Shangri-La Hotel, At the Shard

The wait is almost over: what looks set to become Londons most superlative hotel view will finally be unveiled to the public this month. Guests will be whisked from the street to reception - the Shangri-La occupies floors 34 to 52 of the Shard - in just 28 seconds to find 202 individually-designed rooms and suites, each with its own unique features owing to the buildings tapered design. The mesmerising views, of ant-like commuters scurrying across London Bridge, the domed splendour of St Pauls Cathedral and the meandering sweep of the Thames, are best appreciated over a cocktail at GNG, the highest hotel bar in London.
