When Dawn Osborne was the editor of the Braggs School yearbook, she couldnt take any photographs.
Our supervisor, Sharon Clark, wouldnt let anyone use the camera, she said. She was responsible for the only camera Braggs School had. We were a poor school.
Osborne, 40, has more than made up for that lack of experience.
As a member of the Three Rivers Photography Club, she shoots pictures of downtown Muskogee, people, abandoned structures, street scenes.
Ive always taken pictures with those little throwaway cameras, she said. But to have this as a hobby, its only been in the last two years.
She said her interest in photography blossomed when she joined the photography club.
Osborne has since blossomed in other areas social networking, downtown development, painting, travel, crafts.
It just seems the older I get, I am blossoming, she said. Things I was not interested in when I was younger, I am beginning to take interest in. Now, Im in that wow kind of phase.
A Muskogee native, Osborne graduated from Braggs in a class of 17.
Everybody knew everyone, she said. It was a nice, quiet town. You could trust your neighbors. You could leave your house unlocked. Everybody helped everybody.
