Meli Hotels International is set to debut ME Miami, the first Me by Meli-branded hotel in the U.S. The new bayfront hotel, slated to open in spring 2015, will also serve as U.S. headquarters of Meli Hotels International.

Under the ownership of private-equity, alternative investment manager, CGI Merchant Group, the downtown property will take over the current location of Casa Moderna Hotel. The area will also host Zaha Hadid's new project and the new Miami World Center, which will include a large shopping mall.

ME Miami will boast 129 rooms, two rooftop pools, and more than 5,000 square feet of renovated space for F&B outlets. All public and private spaces, including the spa, will be completely remodeled.

One of the property's signature F&B outlets will include STK Rebel, a casual version of the traditional steakhouse, which will include indoor and outdoor dining options.

The announcement of ME Miami follows the successful launches this summer of ME Mallorca and ME Ibiza as well as the celebrated ME London, which opened in 2013. The brand will continue to expand with three future properties, including ME Milan Il Duca and ME Caracas, both slated to open in 2015, and Zaha Hadid's ME Dubai in 2016.

ME by Meli Hotels to Launch in the U.S.

Ibiza is a very popular tourist destination, especially due to its legendary and at times riotous nightlife centered around two areas: Ibiza Town, the island's capital on the eastern shore and Sant Antoni to the West.

Ibiza Town has become a popular destination for tourists. The most famous clubs include Privilege (the largest club in the world), Eden (the busiest nightclub in Sant Antoni), Es Parads (noted for its water parties), Amnesia (known for foam parties), Space (an afterparty club), Pacha, and DC10.

These clubs have become the centre of the worldwide electronic music movement. The Tecnalia applied research centre has revolutionised the hotel sector with smart bracelets - the Smart VIB (Very Important Bracelet) that enables clients access hotel rooms without the need for a card, make payments using the PayPal system, share experiences on social networks via the numerous tactile screens at their disposition, and receive completely personalised services according to taste, while at all times guaranteeing protection of information.

These bracelets are available at two of the most emblematic establishments that the Palladium Hotel Group has in Ibiza: Ushuaa Ibiza Beach Hotel and Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza. This exclusive and pioneering service in the sector has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of the hotel group with state-of-the-art companies in the information and communications technologies sector.

Moreover, the Palladium Hotel Group has come to an agreement with PayPal, enabling the incorporation of payment for hotel products and services with the bracelet. All customers acquiring the Smart VIB bracelet or the associated packs (Zen, Ballad and Clubber) can connect with their credit card and use PayPal technology as a method of payment simply by holding their bracelet to the reader.
