Besides the novel story, Sircar insists that his casting director Jogi Malang did a phenomenal job of roping in the right actors in the film -- right from Ayushhman Khurrana, the film's lead to Delhi-based theatre actor Krishna Singh, who plays Vicky's limping friend and is constantly badgering him for an 'intro' with a girl he fancies.

In one of the most popular scenes in the film, Vicky's mother (played by theatre person Dolly Ahluwalia) and her ultra modern, outspoken mother-in-law (played by Kamlesh Gill) are seen bonding over pegs of whiskey after a day of constant bickering.

Sircar describes it as a cult scene.

He also reveals that the sequence was inspired from his own life, his late mother.

"In the later stage of my mother's life, she would have trouble sleeping at night. I was drinking one day and offered a glass to her. She accepted, and slept really well that night. After I moved to Mumbai, she would often call me to ask when I would visit again," he says, adding that his mother wasn't a regular drinker.

The drinking sequence has been likened to the growing cult status Kahaani's Bob Biswas has achieved. When asked if he thinks he should have highlighted it before the film released, he says, "That would confuse the audience. We didn't want to deviate from the central theme of the film."

The dollar is strong, the lines are shorter at bold-faced attractions and there are deals at restaurants. Athens, GreeceWhy: Greece has been hit hardest by the debt crisis, and hotels are hurting. Choose an independent property rather than part of a chain, dont be afraid of calling the hotel direct to negotiate, and keep an eye on the political and economic situation in the Greek capital by enrolling in the State Departments STEP program.

Lisbon, PortugalWhy: Portugal is the poorest country in Western Europe, and the low cost of living means prices are low on everything from restaurants and hotels to attractions and transportation. INSOLVENT DEVELOPER Treasury Holdings has agreed to provide a sum of 600,000 and charges over four properties in favour of the National Assets Management Agency as security for costs of its challenge to the agencys decision to call in loans of more than 1 billion and appointing receivers over properties here.

The money and first fixed charges must be provided within two weeks or the developers action will be stayed and Nama will have liberty to apply to dismiss it, it was also agreed before the Commercial Court yesterday.

The charges relate to a 50 acre development site at Valverde, Cala Llonga, Ibiza, Spain; a property at St Laurences Park, Stillorgan, Dublin; and a total of 20 car parking spaces at Townsend Street and Clanwilliam Terrace in Dublin. The 600,000 is to be lodged to an account in the names of solicitors for both sides.

Given Treasurys consent to provide that security, an application by Nama for orders requiring the company to provide security for costs, and a fortified undertaking for damages, did not proceed yesterday.

Security for costs had been sought in circumstances where the developer is insolvent with overall debt of some 2.7 billion. Nama acquired some 1.7 billion of its loans in 2010 and the loans called in by it amount to over 1 billion.

After talks yesterday morning between the sides, Ms Justice Mary Finlay Geoghegan was told the issue of security for costs and the application for a fortified undertaking for damages had been resolved. The developer had agreed to provide the cash and charges over properties, plus a fortified undertaking for damages based on those same resources, Paul Sreenan SC, with Cian Ferriter SC, for Nama, said.

Michael Cush SC, for Treasury, confirmed that agreement. He also said the developer was not proceeding with any claims for declarations that would have required the State to continue to be represented in the action and, in those circumstances, the State was struck out as a party to the case. An amended statement of claim would reflect that, counsel said.

Lyndon MacCann SC, for KBC Bank, said his client, which is owed 75 million by Treasury and opposes the developers action, intended to remain in the case.
