Ibiza is famous for its nightlife and clubbing experience but far there is more to enjoy on this beautiful island.Due to the citys architecture and the islands sea life, Ibiza is a balanced UNESCO World Heritage site boasting Mediterranean flavours, local markets, walking trails along the coast and chill beaches. Puerto San Miguel, Las Dalias and Sa Talaia are perfect places for family holidays.

St. Miquel de Balansat, Ibiza

To get a feel of the real Ibiza and enjoy your holiday I would recommend you get a car rental from Ibiza airport and drive along the coastal lines to Puerto San Miguel. Driving from the airport only takes around 40 minutes and you can enjoy some stunning scenery. If you also get a good offer on the car hire it works out cheaper than the ferry and is far more fun.

Once in San Miguel dont forget to visit The San Miguel de Balansat Church. The altar is beautiful and on Thursdays you can take part in the traditional Ball Pages dancing performed in the Churchs courtyard. Its only a 5 minute drive from the northern part of the village. If youre a fan of water sports, the villages beach offers a wide range of things to do; from surfing and water skiing, to banana boat rides, pedaloes and diving.

Tired of splashing in the water? You can go to the Port Balansat restaurant and taste the best fish menus on the island but for those of you who dont particularly enjoy fish, dont worry because Port Balansat is a pizzeria too. If youre staying in Puerto San Miguel then feel free to end the night with a Kilkinny Irish Cream at Caseys bar but if youre heading off in the car then its best to stick with an ice cold lemonade.

Las Dalias Hippymarket. Ibiza

Las Dalias market is not far from San Carlos about a half an hours journey. When you get there, I advise you to park half a mile from the hippy market for free. Its just as good in terms of service as the markets 3 car park. Once youre in, you can sense the local atmosphere with less of the tourist air and more authentic crafts on sale.

The restaurant is located within the Las Dalias market and expect your tastes to be blown away by the delicious and ingenious platters they have on the Mediterranean menu. Menu del Dia is Ibizas best value meal deal during the day and it consists of a 3 course meal plus wine. Locals recommend a Menu Del Dia over anything else when it comes to value for your money.

The Soul Bar always has some nice tunes playing or you can choose to chill in the Bedouin tent. On Saturdays there is also a games area packed with fun for the little ones as they get involved in creative workshops and become storytellers.
