Actress Karen Bethzabe is known for portraying Elena Reyes in seasons 2 and 3 of The Walking Dead spinoff seriesFear the Walking Dead.Deadline reports that Bethzabe will star in a new series, Casa Grande.

The limited bilingual series, created by Lauren Swickard and Ali Afshar, follows the reality and conflicts experienced by Californias migrant workers and the landowners who employ them. Casa Grande is described as an upstairs/downstairs story transposed from turn-of-the-century English countryside to rural America.

Casa Grande was recently picked up by Freevee and will premiere on May 1, 2023. The English and Spanish language series consists of 5 one hour episodes.

In addition to Bethzabe, the cast includesJohn Pyper-Ferguson (The 100, Suits), Christina Moore (That 70s Show, 90210), Madison Lawlor (Juniper), Karen Bethzabe (Babylon), Javier Bolaos (All American), Raquel Dominguez (Chicago Med), James Marsters (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Kate Mansi (Days of Our Lives), Daniel Edward Mora (Coco), Loren Escandon (The Baxters), and Ali Afshar (Hes Just Not That Into You).

Fans of Fear the Walking Dead remember her characterElena who lived at the Rosarito Beach Hotel, where at the onset of the outbreak, during a wedding, one guest reanimates. Elena and her nephew locked the doors to prevent the spread, closing the remaining guests inside with the walker. She had to live with this decision, and she attempted to redeem herself by caring for others. Her performance in this role would gain her international recognition.

She is also known for her roles in Babylon, Listen, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Dead Men, and more.

Next, Bethzabe will star in a short film that she writes and stars in, The Carnival King.
