Star Trek Into Darkness sees one of the most iconic double acts return to cinema screens in the form of the Enterprise's Captain Kirk and his first officer Spock. And just like their characters, actors Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto have developed quite the bond.

Zach and Chris are busy promoting their new movie around the world and it sounds like they're loving spending even more time together, despite their personalities being somewhat chalk and cheese:

"The worst thing is that Zach likes to play these ridiculous vocabulary games," Pine revealed to MTV News, "which he will tell everybody he wins, which is such a crock of bullsh--."

"I think we both have a healthy sense of competition, which infuses our dynamic a little bit with an edge of humor and spontaneity," says Quinto, using some typically big words to illustrate his point!

Just like Spock and Kirk the two actors have grown to rely on each other after a tough day: "When you're talking about exhaustion and depending on someone to answer questions all day long, you can depend on Zachary Quinto because that man can run words together like it is going out of style," Pine reveals about his co-star.

"You'll see me in interviews and a question will be asked and I'll just [go] 'uh-huh, uh-huh'... and I'll just look at Zach and Zach will take it away."

Zach meanwhile adds that his mate has a tendency to go off the rails when he's hungry, revealing: "The worst thing is, you've never met somebody who goes from totally normal to 'I have to eat right now,' says Quinto of Pine. "So we'll be in the middle of an eight-hour day of press, and then he'll just like hold the phone while he eats his oatmeal."
