Notre Dame football recruiting: No word on Neal

The press conference in which star athlete Davonte' Neal was supposed to announce his college decision included a live TV feed. It included hundreds of students at the elementary school Neal attended.

It just didn't include Neal.

Neal, who was set to announce his choice from among Notre Dame, Arizona, Arkansas and North Carolina, did not appear at the Tuesday morning press conference. Neal, a senior at Chaparral High in Scottsdale, Ariz., is one of the last unsigned star players in the recruiting class of 2012. Most of the players in that group signed on Feb. 1.

The Arizona Republic's Richard Obert tweeted from the press conference that Neal and his father may have been in a struggle over whether Davonte' should attend Notre Dame or Arizona. Obert tweeted that Luke Neal said that Arizona would not be the college but that, in his opinion, Davonte' Neal wants to attend Arizona.
