Startups: The Day One Dilemma
Launching a startup company in any field is daunting even if youve got the next hot product. Getting the message out to your customers on day one is often a make or break challenge for would-be entrepreneurs.
The first few sales are often the hardest to achieve, there are few things as demoralizing as launching to the sound of nothing but crickets!
Building Buzz Before Launch
There are some ready and waiting on your launch date.
Scarcity or exclusivity marketing proved successful for Googles Gmail service, as it did for Facebook, but these are far from typical one startup being backed by the worlds largest search engine, the other being a cultural revolution in the making.
Working under the assumption that you dont have access to these competitive advantages, the question is what do you need to do, to succeed?
What Everyone Else Does
There are pre launch landing page services right now, including the likes of unbounce.com (paid) or LaunchRock.com (free).
They fundamentally do the same thing, provide you with a coming soon, sign up for details page, and typically include social sharing or email functionality.
