The board members of the Tri-County Texas Tea Party have unanimously given their endorsement to conservative Ben Streusand in the runoff race for Congress in District 36.

Tri County Texas Tea Party President Aubrey Vaughan said, Tea Party supporters are eager to see another Ted Cruz-style political leader in Washington. We want to see something tangible, not the failed politics of current national Republican leadership. Ben Streusand is a strong leader, and Im confident he will make a difference in D.C. Im excited to publicly endorse Ben Streusand and I urge others to stand up and join me.

Tri County Texas Tea Party Board Member Ray Ansley said, When I look at a candidate, I look for a real fighter, and I see the fight in Ben Streusand. At first I didnt know either candidate well, but Ben is an independent man of character who cant be bought, is unafraid to speak his mind, and wont back down from a fight. I am happy to endorse Ben Streusand for Congress in CD 36 as the best man for the job.

That sentiment was echoed by Board Member Ken Rutter, who said, I am proud to publicly endorse Ben Streusand for Congress in CD 36. Ben is a man I trust, a man of faith and integrity, and I believe he is the strongest candidate to make a difference in Washington. I encourage my fellow conservatives across the district to join me and rally behind Ben Streusand and help get this country back on the right track.

Ben Streusand is in the Republican runoff for Congress in District 36. Known as a tax fighter during his 10-year tenure as Chair of Americans for Prosperity-Texas, Ben Streusand has now been endorsed by Tea Party leadership and every major Tea Party in District 36.

Streusand has also been endorsed in his race for Congress by Texas Alliance for Life, Dave Welch, Executive Director of Houston Area Pastors Council, Battleground Tea Party of Texas, Kingwood TEA Party, Texas Conservative View PAC, Conservative Republicans of Texas PAC, The Texas Conservative Review, Terry Lowry and The Link Letter, Texas Home School Coalition, Hon. Susan Combs, Hon. Paul Bettencourt, Conservative Activist Peggy Venable known for her work with Americans for Prosperity Texas, former Speaker of the Texas House, Hon. Tom Craddick and former CD36 candidates Colonel Jim Engstrand, Chuck Meyer and Dave Norman.

Ben Streusand is the recent 10-year Chairman of Americans for Prosperity-Texas, Texas largest Tea Party fiscal activist group, a political contributor on 700AM KSEV, The Voice of Texas and was one of the original supporters of the Tea Party movement in 2009. Streusand is a 30-year veteran of the banking industry and devoted grandfather and husband of 20 years to wife, Kathy.
