The head of the Greenock site, David Holmes, said he was delighted to see the public visiting the company for advice.

Also there was Inverclyde MP Iain McKenzie, who praised the idea of giving informal guidance over a cup of tea or coffee.

He said: Its a great way to help people get the most out of their communication device.

Mr Holmes said EE is committed to helping local people improve their digital skills.

He said: Working with the Inverclyde library service, we host parties in which anyone can drop by the EE call centre for tea and biscuits with our staff and have their questions answered.

The next techy tea party at EE will be from 2 to 4pm on 14 April.
