DEAR SUN SPOTS: On Dec. 16, 2023, the country will celebrate the 250th anniversary of The Boston Tea Party. Members of The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum will be placing a commemorative marker at the burial site of every known participant in the Boston Tea Party.

Turner had its own true patriot. Joseph Ludden (1753-1829). He was one of Turners first settlers and one of 125 known participants. He is buried at the Turner Centerville Cemetery.

A ceremony honoring Ludden will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at the cemetery. The public is invited.

ANSWER: As the date of the anniversary approaches, there will be many events to commemorate this historic occasion. A good website to get information is https://www.revolution250.org/. A statement on it saysthe American Revolution began in New England. Two hundred fifty years ago, the men and women of what is now Massachusetts resisted attempts to deny them their rights as British citizens. What happened as a result of this struggle changed the world.

There will be big doings in Massachusetts and the planning is in the works. If your town or city is getting involved and having their own events, please let me know so I can get the word out to the fine citizens of Sun Spots Land!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: My two senior cats, Bubbie, age 17, and her daughter, Angel, age 15, love to chew on organic cat grass. Unfortunately, since the pandemic hit over two years ago I cannot find the product anywhere.

Before the pandemic Walmart used to carry a product called Smarty Kat Sweet Greens, but they no longer carry it. Ive checked several times. Do you or your readers know of a brick and mortar store that carries this product or something similar? I dont have the screens or the skills to order it online. Sheila, Wilton

ANSWER: Cats eat grass because its comes naturally to them and can support their health in the same way eating leafy greens helps humans stay healthy.

Have you tried Petco in Auburn? According to the website, they carry Pet Greens Cat Grass Original Wheatgrass in 8-ounce packages for $5.99 or in a six-pack for $37.99.The store is at 105 Mount Auburn Ave. #120. Call 786-9280 to see if they have the kitty grass in stock. Petco is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

If you want to take a little trip, PetSmart in Brunswick (844-6122) at the Merrymeeting Plaza at 147 Bath Road has a few kitty grass products. Its open the same hours as Petco. They sell Whisker City Cat Grass Kit ($4.99), Buzzy Cat Grass Complete Grow Kit ($3.99), and Catit Senses Cat Grass Garden Kit ($16.99).

Kitty grass is usually made of alfalfa, wheat, oat or barley grasses, so if you want to grow some on your own, those are the seeds to look for.
