Various versions of Janine Tugonon memes have recently surfaced in social networking sites as netizens took sides following her break-up with long-time boyfriend Jaypee Santos.

The meme shows the beauty ambassador posed in her blue bikini during the swimsuit competition in the Ms. Universe 2012, with different captions such as "Nanood lang ng concert, kinabukasan break agad. Na-Janine Tugonon" and "Pag pinagpalit ka ng syota mo sa sikat...Na-Janine Tugonon ka!"

The beauty queen admitted in the morning talk show, Kris TV hosted by Kris Aquino, that she ended her relationship with Santos because of an argument on Tugonon's admiration for The Script's frontman, Danny O'Donoghue. She said that she didn't want to think about another guy while in a relationship, confessing that she and Danny had been exchanging messages through Twitter and SMS.

Public resentment flooded the Ms. Universe 2012 runner-up who once commanded the respect of thousands of people.

"...hindi kami na-impress or napa-wow sa pagiging close niyo ng The Script (We were not impressed with your closeness with The Script)," Stephanie Mendoza Dimaano, a Facebook user, said. "Beauty queen ka...be a role model naman. (You are a beauty queen; you should be a role model)"

Meanwhile, some defended Tugonon saying that there's nothing wrong with being truthful with her feelings.

"Being true to yourself and feelings always takes courage...she'd rather state her true feelings now than make her boyfriend believe she truly loves him or so and hurt him more in the long run," Man Valmonte, a netizen, commented. Another user named Edgardo Casas pointed out that people have all the right to terminate a relationship when they're no longer comfortable with it.

Janine Tugonon reacted on her Twitter account @janine_tugonon, "Stop jumping into conclusions...Nothing's going on!"

The beauty queen recently admitted in Kris TV that she broke up with her boyfriend, Jaypee Santos, whom she has been together with for a year. The video was then posted on social networking sites such as Facebook, gaining both hurtful and sympathetic comments.

An online user quoted Bb. Pilipinas 2013 winner Ariella Arida's answer during the Question and Answer portion: "One lesson in life that women can teach men is being sensitive. We all know that men are more logical when it comes to decisions. They are usually more rational and straightforward. Unlike women, we use our hearts and we tend to get emotional in some of our decisions. Sensitivity is something that we, women, can teach men."
