As more and more restaurateurs recognize the importance of having a Facebook presence, the social networking site has launched a new feature that will allow eateries to post their full menu in a new tab next to the photos and likes buttons.

In a bid to rival search giant Google, Facebook has announced a new feature that will allow users to look up restaurant menus on the pages theyve liked.

Its a move that follows on the heels of Google, which launched a search option in the US earlier this year that leads users directly to a restaurants menu. The search engine sources menu information from a third-party provider.

When looking for a great meal, people often turn to Facebook to find a restaurants location, hours of operation and menu, reads a Facebook blog post announcement.

Thats why, beginning today, were making it easier for restaurants worldwide to display one of their most important assets directly on their Facebook Page their menus.

Restaurateurs in the US and Canada can upload their menus using business listing platform SinglePlatform. Menus can also be added as a PDF attachment.
