Senate candidate will visit with Republican Women

The Goochland Republican Women will welcome U.S. Senate candidate Ed Gillespie for a cocktail reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 1.

Gillespie, a former chairman of the Republican National Committee and the current chairman of the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) , will meet with the group at the Luck Stone Design Center, located at 343 River Road West in Manakin- Sabot.

Gillespie began his career in the U.S. Congress as a Senate parking lot attendant and his career in politics as a phoner in the basement of the Republican National Committee.

Once a top aide to former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, Gillespies editorials have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, National Review and The Weekly Standard.

The cost to attend this event is $25 per person and can be prepaid or paid at the door.
