How Facebook and social networking sites are used by child abuse gangs to groom victims for 'sex parties'

Gangs of child abusers use Facebook and other social networking sites to trawl menus of potential victims and plan sickening sex parties, a devastating report warns today.

Naive young people are wandering round in the thicket of the internet, which plays a central role in grooming and planning abuse.

Sue Berelowitz, deputy childrens commissioner for England, claimed groups of men use menus of girls and warned that it was rare to find abuse cases where technology such as mobile phones and computers were not in some way connected.

The interim report by the deputy children's commissioner Sue Berelowitz warned Facebook is used by gangs to arrange 'sex parties' where children are abused

This includes encouraging girls to swap sexually explicit images on mobiles, adults grooming children on social networking sites such as Facebook, and the viewing of extreme or violent pornography and discussing it during sexual assaults.

Children groomed online are taken to parties, where they are drugged or plied with alcohol so that they did not know what was happening to them, the study found.

This made it impossible for them to identify the perpetrators.

Israeli Official's Social Accounts Hacked

Nov 21, 2012 11:23am

A group of pro-Palestinian hackers apparently managed to break into the social networking accounts of Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom and has promised to release a drove of the top officials private emails.

Though the Israeli government now appears to have regained control of the accounts, screenshots posted on various news outlets overnight show Shaloms Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts plastered with pro-Palestinian messages. An official at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. confirmed the hacking incident.

A group calling itself ZCompanyHackingCrew (ZHC) boasted about the hack on Twitter and claimed it had also accessed Shaloms personal email account where they stole his contacts, docs [documents], and some other interesting stuff. The group said it plans to release them online very soon.

ZHC specified that it is not part of the loose hacking collective Anonymous, which has declared its own cyber war against Israel.

This morning ZHC taunted Shalom on Twitter, asking, How was your day Mr. Vice Prime Minister?

The messages purportedly posted by the hackers have been deleted from Shaloms Facebook and Twitter and the Deputy Prime Minister has apparently not made public statements with either account since the incident.

Shalom did not immediately respond to a request for comment for this report.

Rich Gorman Announces Next 800 lb. Gorilla in Social Marketing: Completed.com

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Nov 21, 2012) - According to serial entrepreneur and tech addict Rich Gorman, social networking is hardly just for recreation anymore. An Internet pioneer whose credentials include groundbreaking work in the fields of direct response marketing and online reputation management, Gorman has been accurately assessing the latest and greatest breakthroughs in online technology for more than ten years -- and in a new statement to the press, Gorman weighs in with his prediction for the next big social media giant -- a site called Completed.com.

"In a lot of ways, Completed.com is picking up where sites like LinkedIn, and even blogging platforms like WordPress, have left off," Gorman opines. "These sites have long made it possible to cultivate powerful professional bonds online, to show off your professional acumen and make the right kinds of connections with the right kinds of working professionals. Whether you are blogging about your industry or simply posting your resume, the Internet is a fertile avenue for networking and professional development, but Completed.com is set to take all of that to the next level."

Still in its beta testing mode, Completed.com identifies itself as a "marketplace" for businesses and for professionals. The site allows for both personal and business profiles, and asks professionals to input not only their work history and skill sets, but also current revenue levels and yearly income. The purpose of the site is to facilitate connections between professionals from all different industries, and to match the right people and companies with the right opportunities.

According to Gorman, it is a new kind of social platform, and one that will take business networking to a new plane. "With sites liked LinkedIn, it is possible to form the kinds of connections that might land you a job interview somewhere down the road." Gorman enthuses, "At Completed.com, the process is more focused, more disciplined, and more urgent -- and if you brand yourself the right way, your Completed.com profile could land you a significant new business opportunity, right on the spot."

Gorman is quick to say that Completed.com is not a just a site to help people get jobs, but to help businesses and industry authorities find new levels of success. "I have long said that blogging is the new fraternity -- that the kinds of lifelong professional bonds you used to get on a college campus, you now get on blogging sites," Gorman explains. "Completed.com is the next step in that evolution. It brings together all of the networking components of Facebook and Twitter, but it allows serious entrepreneurs and business professionals to interact on a more meaningful, bottom-line level."

Gorman is no stranger to the importance of online networking, and much of his success stems from his eagerness to work alongside like-minded professionals. This zeal for collaboration is what first drew him to Completed.com. "One of the cardinal rules of business is that if you are an A-list player, you surround yourself with other A-list players," he remarks. "You always want to be in the company of people who are smarter and more efficient than you, and Completed.com enables you to do just that. No other social network is as performance-based, or as useful for finding the best and brightest minds within your industry, and that is ultimately what makes this such a crucial new player on the social networking landscape."

An Internet entrepreneur with more than ten years of experience in online marketing, Gorman is best known to many for his seminal Direst Response blog, which serves as a sort of high-level think-tank for the affiliate marketing industry. Additionally, Rich Gorman is active on Twitter, @RichGorman101.

John McAfee Blogs and Offers Reward for Finding Neighbor’s Killer

Following the allegations of murder of his neighbor Gregory Faull, Anti-virus pioneer John McAfee has decided to help finding the actual murderer, and has started blogging for the same. Faull was shot dead on Saturday, 10 November, for which police wanted to interview McAfee as a material witness. But McAfee said he doesnt trust the authorities, whom he alleged poisoned his dogs and wish to kill him.

McAfee established a blog named The Hinterland, which has been confirmed authentic by Chad Essley, one of his friends. He wrote a criticizing post on his blog about the systematic roundup of his friends and associates, since Faulls homicide. He also wrote that the police arrested his housekeeper, his British bodyguard, the bodyguards wife, a taxi driver who ferried McAfee away from his property, and McAfees best friend in Belize. As all this caused enough of trouble to McAfee, later he came up with another post stating,

I also needed to do my own investigation, since the police only seemed to be investigating my whereabouts. My safety is contingent on the truth being discovered. I today announced on NBC Television that I am offering a $25,000 reward for the capture of the person or persons responsible for Mr. Fauls [sic] murder.

He also said that he watched the police dig up his four dogs that had been poisoned and buried; they cut off the heads and re-buried the bodies. Further expressing his views, he wrote,

If I am captured, this blog will continue. I have pre-written enough material to keep this blog alive for at least a year. In addition, the administrator, Chad, will continue to monitor comments. He will administer the reward and post any information received. In truth my continued involvement from this point is irrelevant.

As of now, both McAfee and Samantha, his 20-year-old girlfriend are on the run, claiming harassment by police, but continue to keep the blog updates of the activities. Over the past few years, McAfees behavior had grown very peculiar. He had distanced himself from expatriates and began hanging around some of the most notoriously known gangsters of Belize. May be this is the reason that authorities want to investigate with him.

Hendra vaccine now available nationwide

Nov. 21, 2012, 12:47 p.m.

The vaccine against the deadly Hendra virus is now available for use on horses nationally.

Agriculture Minister Joe Ludwig said this morning that the vaccine was being made available across the country for the first time after an initial roll-out in high risk areas in Queensland and New South Wales.

The vaccine is the result of almost 20 years of research, millions of dollars and close to 100 researchers.

It is hoped that the vaccine will stop the spread from horses to humans of the bat-borne virus, which has claimed the lives of four people and 80 horses since it was first identified in Brisbane in 1994.

It is so important for both the vet community plus the horse-owning community to have this breakthrough, Senator Ludwig said.

The federal government contributed $3 million to the research and development of the vaccine by Pfizer, CSIRO, local vets and the US defence force.

The vaccine will not be subsidised by the government.

Its important that horse owners talk to their vets about the vaccine because it is important that we have to break that cycle between bats who then pass it to horses, and then horses who then become sick with virus pass it to humans, Senator Ludwig said.

So at this early stage if we can vaccinate horses against the virus it cant transmit to humans, or at least the risks are minimized.
