11th Kissimmee home shot with bullets

By Tiffanie Reynolds

Staff Writer

Bullet holes were found on another residential home in Kissimmee, the 11th location reported within the city this past week.

At a Mabbette Street home, officers found three bullet holes on the outside wall of the residence.

Officers responded to a call from the resident around 4 a.m. Monday, who reported hearing shots fired and found three bullet holes on the outside wall of their residence.

This gunfire is the most recent on a long string of shooting incidents that have happened within the city of Kissimmee for the past week.

Kissimmee police detectives have linked a similar firearm caliber with previous shooting incidents on Temple Grove Lane, Smith and Lesesne Street, but no evidence has linked this Mabbette Street shooting to any previous incidents in the city.

But detectives have no evidence linking the death of David Guerrero last week to any previous shooting incidents in Kissimmee.

The department is working around the clock to identify those responsible for his death as well as the series of reported shootings, and have several persons of interest that they are currently investigating, according to a police department press release.

Kissimmee man linked to shootings in custody

Christian Adam Roszkowski, 33, added to his long list of lifelong felony charges when Kissimmee police arrested him Saturday and charged him with a host of counts, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, possession of a weapon and ammunition by a convicted felon and seven other drug possession, manufacturing and trafficking charges. He is in the Osceola County Jail on $353,250 bond. Further charges are possible on Roszkowski.

He was arrested Saturday initially on the aggravated assault charge at the Sun Club Apartments on North Central Avenue for his role in a neighborhood dispute on June 25, where he brandished a gun and threatened to use it. Four rounds were shot into Sun Club Apartments near Central and Columbia Avenues after a drive-by shooting sometime Wednesday that was not publicizing by police because facts in that arrest were being used to help connect and find the culprit in the other shooting incidents.

As a result of that incident we were able to recover some projectiles that helped us develop forensic evidence that led to the arrest of Mr. Roszkowski, Kissimmee Police Chief Lee Massie said at a press conference Tuesday. The partnership with other law enforcement agencies (Osceola County Sheriffs Office, St. Cloud Police) has been incredible in expediting the timely. The Sheriffs Office was able to immediate jump into the fray and begin the process of helping look for anything we may be able to tie into this. We are very, very happy to be able to place these charges.

Based on that arrest, KPD officers carried out a search warrant on Roszkowskis Spring Meadow Drive home on Sunday, where they found cannabis-laced cigars, 24 bottles of a liquid street drug called Lean and boxes containing pill bottles of Xanex, Ecstasy and Hydrocone. They also found a .38 caliber handgun, which led to the drug and firearm charges.

Massie said that Roszkowski also is one of two persons of interest in the shooting death of 17-year-old David Guerrero, of Kissimmee, who was shot by a passing vehicle around 6 a.m. on June 26 on North Central Avenue by way of proximity both the incident and Sun Club and the shooting death on North Central Avenue happened just a few hours and no more than 500 yards apart.

Massie said that his agency has grouped eight shooting incidents that occurred between June 21 and 27 into two sets six of them tied together through forensic evidence to a similar firearm caliber gun, and two others by proximity. The location of Roszkowskis arrest Saturday and an incident on North Lyndell Drive is part of the second group.

Federal resources from the Division of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms have also been utilized in investigative these crimes county-wide.

With the Osceola County Sheriffs Office and St. Cloud police each investigating a pair of cases involving rounds fired into parked cars, Massie said the collaboration of the three agencies has been critical.

Very proud of effort of KPD, along with the Sheriffs Office and St. Cloud we have contributed a large amount of resources to these efforts., he said. Citizens can rest assured that were doing everything we can possible do to continue this effort.

Sheriff Bob Hansell, who along with St. Cloud Chief Pete Gauntlett attended Tuesdays press conference, said he strongly believes his agencys cases are linked to the Kissimmee cases, but cant tie them together positively.
