GAN Aktiengesellschaft: ACATIS GAN Value Event Fonds UI celebrates its 5th anniversary

The asset allocation balanced fund was issued by GAN Aktiengesellschaft in cooperation with ACATIS Investment GmbH on 15 December 2008 and offers investors a basic investment option for long-term and balanced investment. Fund managers Dr Uwe Rathausky and J. Henrik Muhle seek to achieve returns similar to those achievable on equity, but with a continuity that gives investors peace of mind in all phases of the market.

The global fund has a rating of five stars from Morningstar (the top rating) and a fund rating of 1 from Finanzen Verlag (the top rating). It is a Lipper Leader in two areas (total return and consistent return) and has received multiple awards (such as Lipper Fund Awards).

With a return of 94% since its launch and a volatility of 8%, the fund regularly tops the performance rankings. Annualised return is 14%. The fund has closed each full calendar year with positive results: 2009 (32%), 2010 (18%), 2011 (2%), 2012 (13%) and 2013 (8%). The fund size is 803 million euros (figures correct as at 31 December 2013).

Investors in the fund benefit from a variable ratio of investment in shares, bonds and liquidity.

'We compare the returns on shares with those on conventional bonds. Our approach focuses on income streams and calculates the time-weighted return to make investments in shares and bonds comparable. We therefore need to be able to plan and count on income streams, which is why we invest in 'winners' in the share segment and in company 'financial stability' in the securities segment.' (Dr Uwe Rathausky)

45 Watt ultra-slim and 12 Watt travel-size adapters compatible for use with an Ultrabook(TM) and which support Intel(R) Turbo Boost Technology

LONDON, UK and LAS VEGAS, Nevada, January 7, 2014 - Dialog Semiconductor plc (FWB: DLG), a provider of highly integrated power management, audio, AC/DC and short-range wireless technologies, today announced its latest move to deliver innovative solutions for Ultrabooks(TM) with the thinnest, smallest 45W and 12W travel-size power adapters that can be used with an Ultrabook. Developed by Dialog's Power Conversion Business Group (formerly iWatt Inc.), the 45W design enables Ultrabook power adapters that are less than one-half the overall volume and approximately 50% thinner than conventional 45W adapters. The 12W design enables the first compact, pocket-size adapters for an Ultrabook at just 68mm x 68mm x 17mm thick, with a typical charge time under five hours.

Dialog's ultra-slim adapter solutions complement the company's power saving technology initiatives for Ultrabooks, including SmartWave(TM) multi-touch display sensor ICs and highly integrated, next-generation power management and audio solutions.

Dialog's 45W and 12W designs support Intel(R) Turbo Boost Technology with 82W peak power capability at 10% duty cycle for the 45W adapter and 2% for the 12W adapter. They also easily meet, or exceed emerging, stringent global energy standards for lower standby power and higher light-load and active average efficiency in power adapters, including the proposed stringent European CoC version 5(1) and U.S. DoE(2) regulations. The 45W design provides high, 90% active average efficiency and achieves < 100mW no-load standby power with fast standby recovery time. The 12W design provides 86% active average efficiency and achieves < 50mW no-load standby power with fast standby recovery time. Both designs maintain high efficiency at loads as light as 10%.

The 45W ultra-slim design uses Dialog's iW1762 digital pulse width modulation (PWM) controller in a PC board that fits in a 61 cubic centimetre (cc) adapter case and is up to one-half the size of conventional 45W power adapters, which can be as large as 168cc, or more. The 12W design uses Dialog's iW1760 PWM controller in a PC board that fits in a pocket-size 80cc adapter case.

Ann Coulter Calls Melissa Harris-Perry MSNBC’s ‘Token’ African-American

Sean Hannity is not letting MSNBCs Melissa Harris-Perry off the hook any time soon. On Monday night, he and Ann Coulter said Harris-Perrys tearful apology for a segment making light of a picture of Mitt Romney and his white family with an adopted black grandchild was insincere and pushed by management, while Coulter went so far as to call Harris-Perry the token African-American at MSNBC.

Coulter found it ironic that Harris-Perry would insinuate that anyone else, like Kieran Romney, is a token, because what does she think she is at MSNBC?

Hannity was actually stunned Coulter would say this, giving the slightest of defenses to MSNBC by saying they have other black personalities like Al Sharpton. But aside from that, he agreed with Coulter that the network is full of lunatics who just cant get enough of their own hyperbolic rhetoric.

Coulter also pointed out the irony of MSNBC taking on race in this fashion while theyve gone above and beyond in finding ways to accuse Republicans and conservatives of racism. She said, Unfortunately for liberals, there is no more racism in America. There is more cholera in America than there is racism.

Multiple Tuscaloosa organizations offer shelter during bitter cold

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Many organizations are working this week to keep people in need safe during below-freezing temperatures.

People sort clothes for folks needing something warm to wear inside Tuscaloosa's Jesus Way Homeless Shelter. Terri Jones say this can be a tough time of year for people without a home.

"Being homeless is awful when you don't have no family, friends. It's downright bad," Jones said.

She knows about this struggle firsthand because she was homeless until the shelter took her in a few months ago.

Calls to the shelter rise as temperatures drop according Jackie Doughty, who helps run the shelter along with her father and others.

"In the last weeks, it's been tremendously increased because of the weather," Doughty said.

Monday was bone chillingly cold. By noon, the temperature were as low as 23 degrees according to some electronic signs along Highway 69 South.

"It fills real quick because we're the only homeless shelter in Tuscaloosa at the moment," Doughty said.

The Salvation Army is awaiting more funding to rebuild their shelter destroyed by the April 27 tornado. Jesus Way Homeless Shelter is full after finding space for 15 kids and 16 adults.
