Mozilla has boosted social networking capabilities and added support for Google's SPDY protocol in the latest update to its Firefox browser.
Firefox 27 now supports simultaneous Social API services, Mozilla said in its changelog for the browser's latest version.
"You can now run more than one service at a time with Firefox SocialAPI, allowing you to receive notifications, chat and more from multiple integrated services," it said.
A separate report on The Next Web said that before the update, users could see notifications only from the social provider they had indicated in their Firefox toolbar.
Firefox first used the Social API in Version 17 in November 2012, allowing social services and providers "to integrate directly into Firefox to make users browsing experience more social, customizable and personal.
The Next Web said Mozilla had social partners Facebook, Cliqz, Mixi, MSN Now, and Weibo, and added Delicious and Saavn.
Meanwhile, Mozilla said Firefox now has TLS 1.1 (RFC 4346) and TLS 1.2 (RFC 5246) enabled by default for added security, and added support for Google's SPDY 3.1 protocol.
