Drug mule Melissa Reid is set to be sent back to Scotland to serve her sentence for cocaine smuggling.
In a shock development, the Peruvian government has just written to the Scottish authorities seeking clearance to let the 20-year-old complete her seven year jail term in her home country.
And Scotlands justice minister has assured Miss Reids family he will give the move the green light telling them: She is one of us.

Mules: Melissa Reid (right) and Michaella McCollum (left) have been in a Peruvian jail after being convicted of smuggling. Reid, however, could serve the rest of her sentence in the UK
Daughter: Melissa Reid with her mother in 2010. Debbie has been to visit her daughter a number of times in prison in Lima, but may only have to travel a few miles when the transfer is completed
Back in Scotland, it is understood Miss Reid would be regarded as a 'low-risk' prisoner and would serve her time in a low-security wing - meaning she could qualify for home leave or even be released while wearing an electronic tag.
