BARACK OBAMA: When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just can't tell you on air. Look, the truth is that when I came into office, I asked. I was like, all right, is there the lab somewhere where we're keeping the alien specimens and spaceship? And they did a little bit of research, and the answer was no.

But what is true-- and I'm actually being serious here-- is that there's footage and records of objects in the skies that we don't know exactly what they are. We can't explain how they moved their trajectory. They did not have an easily explainable pattern. And so I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is. But I have nothing to report to you today.

JAMES CORDEN: It's OK.

OREN LIEBERMANN: An object, skimming the surface, apparently at high speed, when--

OREN LIEBERMANN: Bullseye. The aircraft sensors home in on the thing, the unidentified flying object. It's one of a few videos of these UFOs the Pentagon confirmed as authentic.

ALEX DIETRICH: You know, I think that over beers, we've sort of said, hey, man, if I saw this solo, I don't know that I would have come back and said anything because it sounds so crazy. Your mind tries to make sense of it. I'm gonna categorize this as maybe a helicopter or maybe a drone. And when it disappeared, I mean, it was just--

OREN LIEBERMANN: Alex Dietrich has never told her story publicly. She's one of several Navy pilots who spoke with "60 Minutes" who've seen or picked up on sensors, similar objects, often moving fast with odd shapes and no obvious method of propulsion.

DAVID FRAVOR: There's definitely something that-- I don't know who's building it, who's got the technology, who's got the brains, but there's something out there that was better than our airplane.

OREN LIEBERMANN: No one is using the word aliens here. The Pentagon calls them UAPs, unidentified aerial phenomena.

- There's a whole fleet of them. Look on ASA. My gosh! They're all going against the wind. The wind is 120 knots to the west.

OREN LIEBERMANN: Pilot, Ryan Graves, picked this up on his infrared sensor in 2004 off the coast of San Diego.

- Look at that thing. It's rotating.

RYAN GRAVES: The highest probability is it's a threat observation program.

BILL WHITAKER: Could it be Russian or Chinese technology?

RYAN GRAVES: I don't see why not.

OREN LIEBERMANN: Late last year, the Pentagon created a task force to look at the nature and origin of UAPs. What are these things, where do they come from, and is there an intent here? The government sees this as a possible threat, something that may be able to outperform military capabilities. Lawmakers are demanding it be treated seriously.

MARCO RUBIO: We have things flying over our military bases and places where we're conducting military exercises, and we don't know what it is, and it isn't ours. So that's a legitimate question to ask. If it's something outside this planet, that might actually be better than the fact that we've seen some technological leap on behalf of the Chinese or the Russians or some other adversary.

OREN LIEBERMANN: Next month, the Director of National Intelligence and the Defense Secretary are scheduled to deliver an unclassified report on UAPs to Congress. Former director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, applauds the transparency, but isn't expecting too much yet.

JAMES CLAPPER: I expect this report will be filled with ambiguity as well. And people, depending on their leanings, will extract what they want out of this.

I joined golf fans across the country who watched in amazement as Phil Mickelson won the PGA Championship in Kiawah Island, South Carolina, on Sunday. The Washington Post gave his victory perspective: since 1900, only five players aged fifty or older had held a fifty-four-hole lead in a professional golf major tournament. None went on to win. In fact, they combined to shoot twenty-six over par in their final rounds.

But the article adds, None of them were Phil Mickelson.

He turns fifty-one next month. With his victory he surpassed Julius Boros, who was forty-eight years old when he won the PGA Championship in 1968.

Mickelson was considered a two-hundred-to-one long shot when the tournament began on Thursday. At fifty, he had already begun playing on the PGA Tours senior circuit, winning his first two events. Few thought he would ever win again on the regular tour, much less a major title.

Phil Mickelson reminds us that age is more a number than a limit. It is important to learn from history and tradition while seeking new opportunities and experiences. The ability to do both, in fact, is part of the genius of the American experiment.

Frank S. Meyer (190972) was an American philosopher and political activist. In 1981, President Ronald Reagan recognized him for a vigorous new synthesis of traditional and libertarian thoughta synthesis that is today recognized by many as modern conservativism.

Meyers volume, In Defense of Freedom and Related Essays, includes a foreword by the historian William C. Dennis, who notes: Meyer argued that American conservatism is a blend of two strands of thought that for the most part remained in opposition to each other in Europe but in America were historical and natural allies. On the one hand there were the traditionalists, with their emphasis on value, virtue, and order; on the other hand, there were the libertarians, with their stress upon freedom and the innate importance of the individual.

Christians are tempted to embrace one to the exclusion of the other. In these days of unprecedented cultural challenges, we can defend traditional beliefs so fiercely that we refuse to seek new ways to express them creatively and persuasively. Or we can engage with new ideas and methods so fully that we fail to critique them by biblical truth.

God calls us to choose both.

His word invites us to sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things! (Psalm 98:1). When we look at what God has done in the past, we are motivated to sing a new song for the future. The more we remember what our Father has done for us, the more we are encouraged to trust him for what he will do. And the more we are empowered to step into an unknown future by faith in his providence and providing grace.

A wise mentor once taught me the key to knowing Gods will: stay faithful to the last word you heard from God and open to the next.

The White House on Monday reiterated that immigration czar Vice President Kamala Harris has no plans to visit the border as new video shows a group of about 50 illegal immigrants overwhelming Border Patrol agents in Texas on Sunday, in the latest example of the ongoing crisis on the southern crossing.

Despite the alarming footage, White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Monday said Harris, who was appointed by President Biden to oversee the border in March, still has made no arrangements to surveil the situation in person and talk to local officials there.

I expect she will make a trip to the Northern Triangle at some point soon. So that would be where she would travel given her purview, Psaki said when asked during her daily briefing if the veep would go to the area.

The video, taken by a drone by Fox News, shows one agent in a pickup truck trying to capture more than a dozen migrants running along a dirt road as another agent pursued more members of the group as they leaped over a stream near La Joya, Texas.

Two of the migrants fleeing along the road appeared to be handcuffed together, indicating they had escaped custody.

Eventually, the agents were able to capture about 20 of them a group made up of mostly adult males, the report said.

Another group of migrants about 53 people from Romania, Venezuela, Guatemala and Honduras surrendered to Border Patrol agents instead of trying to flee, the report said.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott warned during an interview on Fox News Sunday Morning Futures that the surge of migrants coming across the southern border is causing a dramatic increase in the amount of drugs being brought into the US.

The Texas Department of Public Safety patrols the border every single day. And they have seen an 800 percent increase in the amount of fentanyl coming across the border. They seized this year enough fentanyl to kill every man, woman and child in the entire state of New York, Abbott said Sunday.

He said that while Texas is cracking down on the illegal drug trade, Americans need to wake up to the crisis.

The border issue is not on the Rio Grande Valley. It goes all the way up to New York or to Minnesota or Chicago, places across the country. And what the border crisis is doing that Biden has opened up, it is enriching the cartels, who profit off of moving fentanyl and other drugs into the United States, Abbott said.

Migrants from the Northern Triangle countries Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador have interpreted President Bidens reversal of the majority of the Trump administrations immigration policies as a sign of encouragement to travel to the US.

It has led to the Biden White House being overwhelmed by the surge of migrants especially unaccompanied children making their way to the US.

Mexican President Andrs Manuel Lpez Obrador has blamed the new president for the crisis, arguing that the expectations he set left migrants with the perception that they would be let into the US.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has released increasing numbers of illegal immigrants into communities since January -- an indicator of both narrowed enforcement priorities and recently-arrived migrants coming into ICE custody via Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Between October and January, ICE was releasing between 2,500 and 3,600 immigrants a month. In February, that increased to 4,782 and increased again in March to 11,888 and then in April to 12,726.

BORDER PATROL HAS RELEASED MORE THAN 60,000 MIGRANTS INTO US UNDER BIDEN

The vast majority of those released were done so under an order of recognizance, meaning they are released and given paperwork for a court hearing. At the moment, non-detained court cases are not proceeding until July. Others were bonded out, paroled or given an order of supervision. Of those released on an order of recognizance, 1,695 were convicted criminals or had pending criminal charges a number lower than the 2,603 released between November and January.

It is unclear how many were recent migrants transferred into ICE custody from CBP and how many were apprehended in the interior and then released.

"We continue to use the civil immigration enforcement priorities to focus our resources on threats to national security, border security and public safety," an ICE spokesperson told Fox News. "ICE will continue to carry out the duties of enforcing the laws of the United States to further the security and safety of our communities."

The Biden administration initially tried to impose a 100-day moratorium on deportations, but it has since stopped that effort after a lawsuit by the state of Texas. Instead, it has issued interim guidance that dramatically narrows enforcement priorities for the agency.

ICE is now focused on three categories of immigrants: those who pose a threat to national security; those who have crossed the border since Nov. 1, and those who committed "aggravated felonies."

It has led to a dramatic reduction in both arrests and deportation, something ICE says allows it to focus more on criminals and national security threats -- but critics have accused the administration of shirking its responsibilities to enforce the border and enforce U.S. immigration law.

A number of Republican states have sued over the guidance, arguing that it is illegal and will result in the release of criminals into their communities.

The numbers released by ICE are lower than the number of migrants released by CBP -- which has released more than 61,000 migrants into the U.S. CBP numbers show that it has also transferred more than 70,000 migrants to ICE and Health and Human Services -- which deals primarily with unaccompanied children.

Dont for one second believe the spin from the Biden White House about the immigration crisis at our southern border that is being parroted by its pious corporate media cronies. There is absolutely nothing normal or seasonal about the border crisis and the unprecedented wave of migrants who are streaming into our country.

Recently released apprehension figures from April show that more than 178,000 people were caught illegally entering the U.S. a 944 percent increase from a year ago. This is the highest total for a single month in more than two decades.

Single adults are driving the surge, but the unaccompanied alien children (UACs) the most vulnerable illegal immigrants are a chief concern. Statistics show that 17,171 UACs were apprehended in April, the second highest number in the Border Patrols 96-year history. And not surprisingly, the number of unaccompanied minor children in federal custody (some 20,000) is the highest on record.

With the nation enduring a pandemic and facing threats of terrorism, Mayorkas was confirmed swiftly by the Senate with a bipartisan vote of 56 to 43. Senators of both parties gave him the benefit of the doubt that hed uphold his pledge to defend and secure our country in the midst of several national crises.

They clearly made a mistake.

Since taking office, Mayorkas has done everything in his power to incentivize illegal immigration into this country. Catch-and-release is in full swing, with tens of thousands of undocumented migrants being released into the country many without COVID-19 test. Their removal from the interior of the country has slowed to a trickle and critical agreements with our Central American neighbors to tamp down on asylum abuses have been canned.

Despite this dereliction of duty, its unlikely that Mayorkas will step down from his job or be fired. Still, he has a responsibility to assess the border crisis that he has helped to create and reconsider the three people hes backing to lead the agencies that work under him to protect the border, enforce immigration laws in the interior of the country, and oversee the legal immigration process. Theres a lot the Biden administration could do to curb some of the policy abuses theyve put in place, but what the Senate can do is refuse to confirm these candidates the president has nominated to help enforce the nations immigration laws. Putting yet another layer of people in charge of federal agencies whose very mission they oppose is a colossal mistake. Clearly, a lot of damage has been done with Mayorkas in the lead, but Biden shouldnt make things worse.
