LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Sliding into socialism – Washington Times

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

The happenings detailed in yesterdays front-page article, Troops get reading lists for books on critical race theory, are more than alarming because they promote divisiveness and destroy unit morale and cohesion.

There is an insidious aspect to making CRT required training in the military. As a civilian, if you object to what is being taught in a classroom or workplace you can stand up and walk out. However, in the military, members are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), so a uniformed member cannot simply walk out. If they do, they could be walked right into jail for violating an order (whether it is a lawful order is questionable because forcing racist behavior and race-based decision making violates the U.S. Constitution and federal law).

Refusal to comply with this mandatory training, reading and these white privilege walks can be criminalized in the military. Is this the next step in our civilian world, too? Will the social-injustice warriors on the Hill and in the Biden administration take the next step and make it a criminal action to refuse such indoctrination, using the military as an example? Teachers are being fired for not towing the woke line. Is the threat of incarceration the next coercive step?

The secretary of defense has admitted that the U.S. armed forces are not racist, so why is this indoctrination being implemented in the first place? Racist indoctrination in the military must be ended. If you think this position is extreme, even laughable, remember, not too many years ago, Sen. Bernie Sanders was considered way out there. Look at todays political, social and cultural environment. Were woke and racism is now being promoted and taught. Mr. Sanders is mainstream, and our country is running headlong into socialism.

‘Socialism’ gets married in India in a wedding that’s turned heads globally – The National

One of the worlds quirkiest weddings is taking place on Sunday in Indias Tamil Nadu state when a young man called Socialism marries Mamata Banerjee in the presence of his close relatives, Communism, Leninism and their little nephew, Marxism.

Socialism is a 25-year-old businessman from a village in Salem and his bride P Mamata Banerjee, 19, is an English literature graduate from the same village.

The two are set to exchange wedding vows on Sunday.

The couple's wedding invitation in Tamil, with hammer-and-sickle emblems stamped on the top, has gone viral on social media.

We are flooded with congratulatory messages. We are getting calls from Dubai, Russia and even America. People are surprised to know our names but are happy for us, Socialism told The National.

Socialism was named by his father A Mohan, 55, a local politician with the Communist Party of India, and his wife M Lakshmi, both staunch leftists who gave all the three sons the red-tinged names reflecting their ideology.

Their first son is named Communism and second son Leninism. Mr Mohan has named his five-month-old grandson Marxism and hopes to name his future granddaughter Cubaism.

After the Soviet Union was dissolved, people were saying that communism has fallen and the ideology wont prosper anywhere in the world. There was a news clip with regards to this and at that time, my wife gave birth to my elder son, Mr Mohan told local media.

I decided immediately to name him communism as I believed that as long as the human race exists, communism wont fall."

P Mamata Banerjee was named by her grandfather after the powerful chief minister of West Bengal state. She recently defeated Prime Minister Narendra Modis right-wing party in state elections.

While Socialism was teased by boys in school, he is elated with his newfound fame.

I was teased for my name but in college, friends with leftist ideology accepted me. Since the wedding invitation, it is surprising that I have now become popular...I am very happy, said Socialism.

The wedding will take place at Socialisms ancestral home and will be attended by 100 guests including people from the Russian embassy.

Hindu weddings are elaborate ceremonies but for the couple, it will be a one-minute ceremony with Socialism tying a sacred thread around Banerjees neck. No other Hindu rituals will be followed.

In southern India, many parents with Left-wing leanings name their children after famous politicians and communist leaders. Names like Lenin, Karl Marx, and Stalin the last being the name of the states current chief minister, are common.

Noem touts strong South Dakota economy, ignores the massive socialistic bailouts that were necessary to get us here. The South Dakota Standard – The…

Our Gov. Kristi Noem had good reason this week to brag on our states strong economy as the rest of the nation emerges from the pandemic-hobbling effects on the overall economy. Noem says that South Dakota has the strongest economy in America and reels off supporting data to back up that claim.

Noem has taken credit for all this by touting her hands off approach to statewide mandates requiring closures and masks as a means of fighting the pandemic. That South Dakota has one of the nations worst track records in handling the coronavirus catastrophe seems irrelevant to her, though the family and friends of more than 2,000 dead South Dakotans would disagree. Consider the contrast between covid-caused deaths in Oregon, with its population of 4.2 million, and South Dakotas death toll, with our population of 886,000. Oregon lost 2,759 of its residents to the pandemic. South Dakotas loss? 2,026.

Noem, enthralled by our economic recovery, never mentions our states horrible track record on the handling of the pandemic, and I have yet to hear any consoling words coming from her office aimed at those who survived the dead.

As to the state of the economy, lets continue the comparison between South Dakota and Oregon. According to people I know out there, Oregon is coming out of this thing in fine economic shape. The Salem Reporter just headlined a story on the situation Oregons economy expected to come roaring back from pandemic-induced recession, citing an economic forecast that expects a speedy recovery from the historic recession brought on by the pandemic.

Closer to home, consider Nebraska, where, according to the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank, the economy has outperformed that of many other states and the nation as a whole. At around 3%, Nebraskas unemployment rate rivals South Dakotas, and that states Gross Domestic Product is within 1.5% of its record high. Comparing covid deaths, Nebraska has had 2,517. Comparing populations, Nebraska has 1.93 million residents.

In context, Noems braggadocio about our economic recovery doesnt look all that great, even as our states covid death count is tragically deplorable.

Meantime, I hear little or nothing from Noem about how federal, socialistic stimulus payments have made it possible for South Dakota to get through this difficult period. She can brag all she wants to about keeping the state open so that the economy could thrive, but take it from me, a businessman who sees it from the perspective of reality, the nearly $2 billion that our state expects to get from federal relief funding this year is the difference-maker between economic struggle and economic growth. Those loans and payments kept a lot of businesses afloat in this state. Last year we got federal, socialistically-generated funds totaling $1.25 billion.

Noem can kid herself all she wants to about her great handling of the crisis, but the fact is, our horrible death toll says otherwise. It was federal funding that got us through this thing, economically. She and her supporters can rail all they want to against socialism, but without it wed be in mighty tough shape these days.

Communism, Leninism to attend younger brother Socialism’s wedding in India – The Express Tribune

All are the progeny of A. Mohan, a district secretary of the Communist Party of India in Tamil Nadu state where left-wing ideology still burns red-hot.

My first son was born during the fall of the Soviet Union and everywhere in the news I was reading that this was the end of communism, Mohan toldAFP.

But there is no end for communism as long as the human race lives on, so I named my first-born Communism, he said.

His next two sons were named Leninism whose five-month-old son Marxism will also attend the nuptials on Sunday and Socialism, the groom.

Pictures of the invitation to the wedding, embossed with hammer-and-sickle emblems, have gone viral on social media.

Socialism's bride-to-be meanwhile is P. Mamata Banerjee, named by her grandfather after a firebrand left-wing politician in West Bengal.

The fact that this other Banerjee ended several decades of communist rule in 2011 in the eastern state to become chief minister isn't spoiling the party.

India leaned more towards the Soviet Union during the Cold War, and names like Stalin, Lenin, Trotsky and even Pravda the name of the USSR's state newspaper are not unheard of, particularly in the south.

Tamil Nadu's current chief minister is M.K. Stalin, named by his father in honour of the Soviet communist dictator just days before he died in Russia.

Mohan said that there was nothing unusual about his sons' names some of his comrades gave their children names such as Moscow, Russia, Vietnam and Czechoslovakia.

But he admitted that his boys, especially Communism, were sometimes teased at school. One hospital refused to admit Communism when he was three years old.

They were scared of the name Communism and initially I faced a lot of troubles. But over time, things smoothed out, he said.

All three sons, now in their 20s, are fellow members of the local communist party, and Leninism named his son after none other than Karl Marx.

Now I am waiting for a grand-daughter from one of my sons, who I will name Cubaism, Mohan added.

The war on Jordan Peterson – Washington Times

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

Leftist hatred for the Canadian psychology professor Jordan Peterson is really something to behold. He stands as an example of what happens to someone who strays from the crazy line of thinking by modern campus bigots.

Mr. Peterson is the canary in the toxic coal mine of political correctness and petty thought police.

Lets start with the professors crime.

Simply put, Mr. Peterson does not share the monolithic, prevailing liberal orthodoxy on university campuses dictating that Western White males are the worlds evil oppressors and anyone who does not belong to that evil race is a victim trapped in circumstances beyond his or her control.

Consider for a moment the leftist premise to which the radical Mr. Peterson objects.

On its face, it is blatantly racist. Divvying up, defining and punishing groups of people based on their race (or gender) was racist 200 years ago during slavery times. It was racist 75 years ago. It is still racist today.

Yet, astonishingly, this reborn racism is widely embraced by the racists who dominate college campuses today.

The second obvious flaw in this racist orthodoxy is the message it sends to non-White, non-males.

Any challenges, failures or misery you face in life are not your fault. And, even worse, there is nothing you can do to change your circumstances. So, just stew in your bitterness and hatred for White males along with the rest of us, goes the leftist campus orthodoxy of the day.

Is there any more destructive and devious lie that could be sold to young people? Is there anything more dystopian or hopeless?

Mr. Peterson has become something of a rock star among beleaguered youth suffocating in the coal mine of modern academia with speeches, lectures, podcasts and a book titled, The Twelve Rules of Life: An Antidote to Chaos. His message has been particularly devoured among young men many of them White who have been vilified and emasculated by crazy university teachings.

Find meaning in life. Take responsibility for yourself. Surround yourself with good people who want the best for you.

Pretty nasty stuff, huh?

The chapter titles of his book include radical instructions such as: Stand up straight with your shoulders back, Tell the truth or, at least, dont lie, and Pet a cat when you encounter one on the street.

These lessons have earned Mr. Peterson a level of blinding hatred that is normally reserved for former President Donald Trump.

So it has been with considerable glee that the leftist media the Revolutionary Guard of modern academia hunted down Mr. Peterson as he suffered from a pestilence of personal maladies that no decent human would wish on his worst enemy.

Over the past year, Mr. Peterson has suffered physical illness and serious mental disease including suicidal thoughts. His wife was diagnosed with cancer. As his life spiraled out of control, Mr. Peterson developed a near-fatal drug addiction.

Actual humans read those lines and are struck with pangs of angst and sorrow for Mr. Peterson and his family. They mutter a prayer for them.

But not the campus bigots and the jackals in the media. Every bleak detail is catnip to them. Their desperate war to destroy all who disagree never sleeps.

When the story of Mr. Petersons troubles emerged about a year ago, a creature named Amir Attaran, a professor of both law and medicine, began his public hot take on Mr. Petersons travails: #KARMA.

Jordan Peterson, oracle to gullible young men, preacher of macho toughness, and hectoring bully to snowflakes, is addicted to strong drugs and his brain is riddled with neurological damage. He deserves as much sympathy as he showed others.

Says the law professor.

A new interview with the Sunday Times of London about his tribulations sparked yet another avalanche of glee and gloating over the unimaginable pain Mr. Peterson has been through.

Introducing her interview, reporter Decca Aitkenhead opines openly referring to herself no fewer than three times in the lead paragraph that she is unable to diagnose the root of Mr. Petersons problems.

I dont know if this is a story about drug dependency, or doctors, or Peterson family dynamics or a parable about toxic masculinity, she sneers.

If these are the purveyors of social justice, we are truly doomed.
