Alireza Dabir, holder of a U.S. Green Card, urged "Death to America"in atelevision interview last week.

"We always chant Death to America but importantly is showing it in action," said Dabir, who won a gold medal in freestylewrestling at theOlympics in Sydney in 2000. We need to prove it [Death to America] with an action."

Iranian regime-controlled media are abuzz with discussions on whether Dabir will be barred from attending the dual meet in Arlington, Texas on February 12. "According to rumors, the US embassy may not issue a visa to the president of the Wrestling Federation,"reported the Iran Labor News Agency.

In response to the Fox News Digital article, the U.S. government news organizationVoice of America reportedthat Dabirs "anti-American" remarks might produce "the possibility of canceling the Iranian national wrestling teams trip to the United States."

A State Department spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Tuesday, "The U.S. and Iranian Wrestling teams are scheduled to compete against one another in an event planned for February 12, 2022, called The Bout at the Ballpark.

"Matters involving visa issuance for any individual members of the Iranian team are subject to Privacy Act concerns and will be adjudicated strictly in accordance with U.S. law," the spokesperson continued.

"As National Security Advisor [Jake] Sullivan said earlier this week, We are united in our resolve against threats and provocations. We are united in the defense of our people. We will work with our allies and partners to deter and respond to any attacks carried out by Iran. Should Iran attack any of our nationals it will face severe consequences."

The U.S. spokesperson added, "The Bout at the Ballpark is a private, commercial sporting event hosted and operated by the Arlington, Texas-based REV Entertainment to be held at Globe Life Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Any questions related to its conduct or operation should be addressed to those entities."

Fox News Digital questioned the State Department about Dabirs claim following the Fox News Digital article that his Green Card had not been valid for seven years.

REV Entertainment did not respond to Fox News Digital media queries by press time.

Fox News Digital sent numerous press queries to Rich Bender, the executive director of USA Wrestling, and to all the sponsors of USA Wrestling, including the U.S. Marines and the multi-national sportswear corporation Nike.

Fars News, a news outlet controlled by IransIslamic Revolutionary Guard Corpsa U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organizationreported that Iranian regime foreign ministry spokesmanSaeed Khatibzadehlashed out at Fox News for its reporting on Dabir. Khatibzadeh said, "We should not politicize sports," adding that "the direction of [Fox News] is clear."

Sardar Pashaei, an Iranian-American former star wrestler and ex-coach of Irans national Greco-Roman team, fired back atKhatibzadeh:"Isnt sending a wrestler to the U.S. with the slogan Death to America a political act?"

Pashaeitold Fox News Digital: "What about not allowing Iranian athletes to compete with Israeli athletes? What about the torture and execution of protesting athletes? People of the world should know that in Iran, if you compete with Israel as an athlete not only will you be banned from competing for the rest of your life but you and your family will be arrested."

The Islamic Republic of Irans Supreme Ali Khamenei made clear his discriminatory policy in September 2021.

"Any Iranian athlete worthy of the name cannot shake hands with a representative of the criminal regime in order to win a medal," Khamenei told Irans medalists from the Tokyo Games. Khamenei, who has repeatedly called for the destruction of Israel and denied the Holocaust, added that "The genocidal, illegal Zionist regime attempts to gain some legitimacy by appearing in international athletic competitions. The worlds arrogant powers and their cohorts [the West] assist and support them in this."

Lawdan Bazargan, an Iranian-American human rights activist who was imprisoned in Tehrans notorious Evin Prison for dissent, told Fox News Digital, "How canU.S. Wrestling invite the wrestling team of the gender-apartheid Islamic Regime of Iran for a friendly match? They [Iranian women] are banned from participating in international competitions in several sports, including wrestling. Even in the sports that women can participate in, they are forced to wear a compulsory hijab that denies them the right to choose their clothes and makes them less competitive compared to the other teams with the appropriate uniforms."

Bazargan noted that "Iranian athletes such as Shirin Shirzad and Shiva Amiri had to flee to the West and wrote about their experiences in the #LetUsTalk Campaign, experiences such as discrimination, compulsory hijab, and even assault and sexual harassment."

She called for a boycott of the dual meet set for Texas.

Pashaei, who won a Greco-Roman wrestling world championship title for Iran, told Fox News Digital that USA Wrestling should pull the plug on the dual meet with Irans regime.

He sent a letter from the United for Navid organization to Bender at USA Wrestling, stating: "On behalf of thousands of Iranian athletes we urge you to refrain from inviting Iranian government-sponsored athletes as long as the government tortures and executes athletes, deprives women of participation in competitions, and chants Death to America in their media. Refrain from inviting officials and athletes who are government propaganda tools that are anti-women and anti-American."

Please speak up

A new (Jan. 3rd) NPR/Ipsos poll finds that 64 percent of Americans believe U.S. democracy is "in crisis and at risk of failing." That sentiment is felt most acutely by Republicans: Two-thirds of GOP respondents agree with the verifiably false claim that "voter fraud helped Joe Biden win the 2020 election" a key pillar of the "big lie" that the election was stolen from former President Trump.

A ReTrumplican is former Republican minus a moral compass who seeks to hold onto power through deceit, deception and insurrection. The GOP is lousy with ReTrumplicans. They corrupt society by attacking science, purging and replacing local election workers and public health officials. Their media outlets repeat the big lie and spew propaganda to pollute the civic universe. Their Constitution starts and stops with the Second Amendment. Their lust for power corrupts their ethical foundation.

My own Representative, Jack Bergman, has aligned with the ReTrumplicans by perpetuating the big lie. The shorter list is of true Michigan Republicans, who denounce the big lie, speaking truth to power: Peter Meijer, Fred Upton, Ed McBroom. They are the true patriots. Have I left any true Republicans off the list? Please speak up.

Trump: The Real Insurrection Took Place On Election Day, Why Aren’t They Investigating The Rigged Election? – RealClearPolitics

Former President Donald Trump said the real insurrection took place on Election Day 2020 at a "Save America" rally Saturday night in Florence, Arizona. Trump promised "massive evidence" will be released "rapidly."

"Why aren't they investigating November 3rd, a rigged and stolen election, without getting to the bottom of which we will never have a fair and free democracy?" Trump asked. "Why aren't they looking at that? And there is massive evidence that shows exactly what I'm talking about, and it's coming out rapidly and it's come out. And is coming out very big in the great state of Arizona."

Trump told attendees that Democrats can't win "without doing a lot of bad things" and said their scheme is to "erase American votes with illegal votes." The former president also promised to "stage a comeback the likes of which nobody has ever seen."

"The American people deserve answers," Trump demanded. "The January 6th rally was a protest against a crooked election carried out by unhinged Democrats, Big Tech, and working with the fake news media, all working together to defeat Republicans and your favorite president. Me. And it was done in many cases without the necessary constitutional approval of state legislatures. You had these things changed by local politicians. In other words, how do we screw the Republicans? They didn't go back. The constitution says you have to go back to the state legislatures, and many of them did and they couldn't get the approval and they did it anywhere, which means it's unconstitutional and many other problems. They did everything you could do."

"The real insurrection took place on Election Day, November 3rd," Trump declared. "Never forget the reason the Democrats and their media allies conduct all of these hoaxes and which hunts is not because they think the American people are with them. It's because they know that the American people are actually against them."

"They have to cheat because with open borders, no Second Amendment, a bad economy highest ever inflation, sanctuary cities, a woke bunch of military leaders that don't know what the hell they're doing, an education system that's failed so badly and they don't want to go to the right system," Trump said.

"They can't win without doing a lot of bad things," Trump said of Democrats. "That's why the radical Democrats are also currently waging an unprecedented attack on voting rights. You see that happening right now. Their scheme is always been to erase American votes with illegal votes, and now they are doing so openly. They want to get rid of that filibuster, and they want to change it. Their legislation is not a voting rights bill. It's a voting fraud bill. That's what it is. Sounds so nice, voting rights."

Hudson Valley Man Among 11 Charged With Seditious Conspiracy For Role In Capitol Insurrection – Putnam Daily Voice

A business owner from the Hudson Valley already awaiting trial for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol Building in Washington, DC is among those charged with seditious conspiracy charges after being named in a federal indictment along with the leader of the Oath Keepers militia.

Roberto Minuta, age 37, who owns an Orange County tattoo shop in Newburgh, was among the members of the right-wing group who were indicted by a federal grand jury in Washington, D.C. this week along with Oath Keepers founder and leader Stewart Rhodes.

On Jan. 6, 2021, Minuta was caught on camera with former President Donald Trump's longtime advisor Roger Stone while wearing a baseball hat and military-style vest with the Oath Keeper logo prior to the violent insurrection, prosecutors said following his arrest.

Following his greeting with Stone, Minuta can later be seen among the crowd that approached the Capitol and interacting with Capitol Police officers while wearing goggles.

He was originally charged with obstruction of Congress and unlawful entry following his March 2020 arrest.

New charges include:

Other charges could be pending, prosecutors noted.

"Minuta and others affiliated with the Oath Keepers breached the U.S. Capitol grounds, where Minuta aggressively berated and taunted US Capitol police officers responsible for protecting the Capitol and the representatives inside of the Capitol, prosecutors said.

Video footage of the riot shows Minuta harassing officers along with other rioters before exiting a damaged Capitol door.

Specifically, Minuta yells at an officer, among other things, All thats left is the Second Amendment! while holding up two fingers, apparently referencing the right to keep and bear firearms, the complaint states.

Prosecutors said that Minuta was a flight risk, and asked that he be held until his trial. Minuta was also cited for opening his tattoo parlor in defiance of the states COVID-19 guidance during the peak of pandemic, which prosecutors said is evidence this man does not respect the law.

US attorneys prosecuting him also made note that Minuta had provided freelance security for various high profile individuals, though Stone wasnt specifically mentioned.

However, a judge released Minuta on bail, saying that he was not engaged in any acts of violence on Jan. 6.

"I think it is an overstatement of the situation to say that because Mr. Minuta was wearing particular gear he is predisposed to particular acts of violence.

Stone, a Fairfield County native (Norwalk) who attended high school in Northern Westchester County (John Jay in Lewisboro), made a statement toABC Newsalleging that he does not know Minuta, nor was he familiar with his name prior to his being identified in earlier media stories where it was alleged that he was involved in illegal events up at the Capitol.

If he was indeed among those who volunteered to provide security while I visited Washington DC I was unaware of it.

If convicted on the seditious conspiracy charge, Minuta will face a maximum term of 20 years in federal prison.

Trump & GOP Planning to Use the Constitution’s 12th Amendment to Steal the 2024 Election – Between The Lines

In the days between the Nov. 3, 2020 presidential election and Jan. 6, the date Congress was scheduled to certify Joe Biden as winner and next occupant of the White House, Donald Trump and his inner circle were working to subvert the will of the American people, according to a memo obtained by the Washington Posts Bob Woodward and Robert Costa. The plot that preceded the pro-Trump violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, involved conservative lawyer and Trump adviser John Eastman who argued that the Constitutions 12th Amendment gave then Vice President Mike Pence the discretion to decide which states electoral votes should be counted if there was a dispute.

Because GOP legislators had already been primed to make baseless allegations that widespread voter fraud had tainted the election, the plot would have several key states submit competing slates of electors, thereby throwing the election result into dispute. The 12th Amendment dictates that if no candidate achieves the necessary majority, the matter goes to the House of Representatives to be decided, where each state is given one vote. On Jan. 6, 2021 the GOP-controlled 26 state delegations, just enough to overturn the will of the people, and award the election victory to Trump.

Between The Lines Scott Harris spoke with best-selling author and investigative journalist Greg Palast, whos been reporting on voter suppression for 22 years. In his recent article titled, What Do You Call a Failed Insurrection? PRACTICE, he explains how the same elements in the unsuccessful plot to steal the election in 2020, will likely be executed again by Trump and the GOP in the 2024 election. Palast warns that unless we can preserve democracy in this years 2022 midterm elections, Trump and the Republicans could very well succeed.

GREG PALAST: Yeah, the 12th amendment, one of the horror shows of our Constitution. If you think the Electoral College is unfair and a bad idea, that aint nothing compared to the 12th amendment. What the 12th amendment says is that if no one gets enough electoral votes, that is, if no one gets 270 electoral votes unchallenged, then the choice of president switches to the House of Representatives.

And its not one congressperson, one vote, which reflects the population of the U.S. It would be one state, one vote. So California, New York, Connecticut, each get one vote. So does Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota. And D.C. wont get any vote at the moment. Theres a Republican majority of 27 states, in which case the Republican, presumably Donald Trump would win.

How does this happen? First of all, it has happened 1824. Literally right after that amendment was added to the Constitution. John Quincy Adams, who lost the popular vote and the electoral vote to Andrew Jackson, was named president under the 12th amendment by a vote of the states. Jackson so overwhelmed him four years later that he became president. But its happened.

When I first brought up that Trump could steal the election by the 12th amendment, I was roundly criticized as a conspiracy nut that even Trump would not do that: Oh, Greg Palast has finally gone off the edge! But now we have from CNN and from Washington Post, they found the memo by John Eastman, Trumps lawyer, which Trump then gave to Pence on Jan. 4th of last year saying, Heres how we use the 12th amendment to stay in power. So I had it on the nose. Now, obviously I didnt know about the memo. I didnt know about the secret meeting between Trump and Pence and several of Trumps staffers, including Mark Meadows.

They were all in on this attempt to use the 12th, but they had not prepared the ground for it. So there were several senators and several congresspeople who would not challenge the certification of the votes of any of the states. But this time they are laying the groundwork by saying people like Cruz and others, Democrats are stealing the vote through fraudulent voters, illegal immigrants, double voters, you know, dead voters.

By the way, its always interesting that the double voters always happen to be a certain color. They never talk about white double voters. Its only black double voters and Hispanic double voters. But they assume that theres millions of these. Theyve never been able to prove that theres ONE. Im not talking about a million. Im not gonna even talking about a thousand. Im talking about lets try one. But theyre gonna use that to not certify the electoral vote from various states.

And in addition, I know it gets a little complicated here, but these guys are sharp. You should read the Eastman memo, which is also linked at GregPalast.com because under the second Article of the Constitution, not the Second Amendment not about the gun stuff. Im talking about the Second Article of the Constitution, it says that state legislatures, not voters Let me repeat this, state legislatures choose the president through the Electoral College. State legislators choose the Electoral College members. And if a state has a rule that says, listen to the voters, that has nothing to do with the U.S. Constitution in which there is no right to vote anywhere in the United States Constitution period except for the right to vote for U.S. senator. Thats your only right to vote, is for the U.S. Senate.

SCOTT HARRIS: Well, Greg, given what youve laid out here and what we know occurred and may occur again, what is our best protection as a democracy against these schemes that would steal another election in 2024?

GREG PALAST: Ill say it many times and youll hear from me in future broadcasts. They cant steal all the votes all the time. I tell this to people because when you hear Greg Palast talk about vote suppression, Why vote? Theyre gonna steal it. No, no, no, no, no. They cant steal all the votes all the time. What happened in Georgia in January, the voters simply overwhelmed the steal. When their secretary of state told Trump in that recorded call, I cant find you 12,000 more votes. Dont think that that guy, Secretary of State Raffensperger was a great hero. He wasnt. He found him a hundred thousand votes already. He already stole a hundred thousand votes from people. He just couldnt find anymore without going to prison.

So, you know, they did every trick you could imagine, but people simply went out and vote and overwhelmed it. So overwhelm the steal. Dont steal your own vote. And then if, if the popular will prevails in 2022, they wont have the votes in Congress. They wont have the popular support that they will need to pull off that stunt in 2024. So now is when you act. Protect your vote and be alert.
