Hirsch Identive Introduces Next Generation Access Control Solution at ISC West in Las Vegas

SANTA ANA, Calif., March 23, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hirsch Identive, a leading provider of integrated high security access solutions and a business unit of Identive Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:INVE - News) (Frankfurt:INV.F - News), today announced the launch of its new DIGI*Net series access controllers and Velocity(TM) 3.5 software platforms.

The new Velocity and DIGI*Net platforms create a state of the art security access ecosystem based on the proven reliability with which Hirsch Identive has become synonymous. The new access control solution expands its native identity management capability to bridge physical and IT infrastructures seamlessly. This enables organizations to improve security, reduce data redundancy and comply with current and evolving information and physical security standards.

Hirsch Identive products are known for their durability, and this new evolution of technology builds on this rugged tradition by ensuring compatibility with traditional and legacy systems while still providing powerful growth capability to adapt for future requirements.

"Thousands of organizations have selected Hirsch Identive to secure their facilities, their people, and assets globally," says John Piccininni, Hirsch Identive's Vice President of Business Development. "These customers told us what was important to them in our next generation products -- high security, interoperability, backwards compatibility and the ability to grow as new business challenges evolve, especially in mobility and interoperability with new technology. Our new DIGI*Net hardware and Velocity 3.5 software are designed to address these and future customer needs."

The DIGI*Net control platform features a new compact design and component modularity, simplifying installation and reducing the system's physical footprint. Intelligent single-door and multi-door controllers may be combined to meet the requirements from single branch offices to large international campuses.

"The powerful DIGI*Net platform is designed with a flexible software architecture that is capable of meeting modern business requirements and allowing for significant growth over the coming years as our customers do more with their access control systems, especially with IT and mobile integration. We have invested more than five years to develop a solution that encompasses the same high levels of reliability and security that Hirsch Identive customers have enjoyed for decades," says Mark Allen, Executive Vice President of Technology for Hirsch Identive.

"Our new design incorporates transparent public / private key certificate communication between all devices within the access control network. This brings unmatched communication security to the access ecosystem, eliminating the threat of eavesdropping or counterfeit security transactions," added Allen.

The Velocity 3.5 management solution features an easy to use interface and is compatible with all previous versions of the Hirsch Identive access control system.

DIGI*Net and Velocity 3.5 are currently in beta installations with commercial availability through Hirsch Identive's global network of channel partners later this year.

Live demonstrations will be held at Hirsch Identive's booth #26087 at the International Security Conference and Exhibition - ISC West 2012, taking place March 28 - 30 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
