Brexit Secretary accused of "lying" to voters about immigration to win the "football vote" – Scram News

Conservative Brexit Secretary Steve Barclay has been slammed for spouting misleading nonsense in order to win the votes of football fans.

Speaking in a video on Twitter yesterday, Barclay said that his Brexit deal will allow the UK to decide whether we want more English qualified players in the Premier League, or whether we want more talented players from Brazil, Africa, Argentina.

Firstly, someone needs to explain to Barclay that Africa isnt a country and, secondly, that hes being grossly misleading.

As many people have pointed out, including trade expert Steve Peers, EU immigration law in no way affects the number of non-EU players in the Premier League.

Indeed, the UK already has control over its non-EU immigration policy we can decide who we want to come to the country.

In any event, the Premier League is currently the best football league in the world for a reason: it boasts an exceptional blend of English, European and non-European talent. Barclay wants to turn the PL into a mediocre spectacle by scapegoating and lying about immigrants.

The perfect metaphor for Brexit.
