For the first time in over a decade, a Liberal will represent Trinity-Bay de Verde in the House of Assembly.

Steve Crocker secured a convincing victory for the resurgent Liberals, who have now won several byelections in recent months. According to unofficial results reported by Elections Newfoundland and Labrador, Crocker attracted almost 66 per cent of all ballots cast, defeating Progressive Conservative candidate Ron Johnson by over 1,700 votes.

Johnson, the father of former cabinet minister and district MHA Charlene Johnson, failed to hold onto the seat for the PCs.
