Silver Spurs Arena shines in gross revenue, report states

The Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee was just named one of the top venues in gross revenue for the past 12 months by Venues Today, a trade publication in the venue industry.

According to the report, the arena took in $1.5 million in gross event receipts for the year-long period ending May 31, placing third among venues with a seating capacity of 10,001-15,000. Its behind only Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena and the USF Sun Dome in Tampa and ahead of the Stephen OConnell Center in Gainesville.

Seating on the floor for an in the round show pushes the arenas seating capacity to 10,500.

The facility reached that figure by hosting nearly three times (51) as many events as others on the top 10 list. Many of those, including the Mecum Car Auction and Florida High School Athletic Associations state championships, can last over a week.

Osceola Heritage Park General Manager Robb Larson said keeping a profitable market share in a market with more than a few venues is a positive sign.

The state of Florida is very competitive, promoters and acts have more options now to book buildings than ever, Larson said. To have increased our ranking to the top three venues in Florida is very rewarding. I applaud my staff to a job well done.

He told Venues Today in a previous article that great customer service is part of the pitch his staff gives to booking agents.

We dont have all the bells and whistles, but were functional, Larson said, noting the recently added curtaining system to make the arena adaptable to any sort of show. Were pretty centrally located and Im really blessed with my experienced leadership team.

The FHSAA has held its girls and boys volleyball and competitive cheerleading state championships at the Silver Spurs Arena the last three years (four for cheerleading). The state association recently renewed the contracts for girls volleyball and cheerleading.
