THE First Noel was playing while we enjoyed Sunday dinner at the Red House. I'd be quite happy to kill a few hours in there, but seven months?
The musical accompaniment was nothing if not original. Over the course of an hour it varied from festive favourites to Morrissey and the kind of thing you might hear in the nightclubs of Ibiza.
The latter was somewhat testing. If they hadn't been so magnificent, I'd have shoved two home-cooked chips in my ears.
As far as I could ascertain, though, no-one else was bothered by this multi-genre mix tape.
