The Fix: Sarah Palin does Hillary Clinton a solid, helps raise $25,000 for her run

Sarah Palin might be on a downward slide as far as conservatives are concerned, but Hillary Clinton might just want to keep her around as long as possible.

At least as long as she's willing to hold up pro-Hillary props.

The picture is from Palin's appearance at the Iowa Freedom Summit last weekend. Thetweet and a fundraising letter to supporters netted at least $25,000 for Clinton's potential run, according to Ready for Hillary PAC.

Which means Palin is now sorta, kinda a co-chair of Ready for Hillary's National Finance Council.

Of course, the Clinton-Palin pairing brings to mind 2008, when Palin was both the anti-Hillary and supposedly a consolation prize for women who backed Clinton in the primary. (Yes, we know it was a weird notion that somehow if you liked Hillary Clinton you would like Sarah Palin too. 'They are both women, what's the difference,' right?)

And Palin still has a singular level of motivational power, though Ready for Hillary insistsit wasn't about her.

"We were motivated by what she had in her hand, not who it was," saidTracy Sefl, a Ready for Hillary adviser. "Any person at that cattle call who would have held up a Ready for Hillary magnet and invoked our name you bet we would have used that in a fundraising call."

Palin loves props. Bet she'll ditch the pro-Hillary ones now.
