Hillary Clinton sounded off on a variety of hot-button issues during her appearance alongside her daughter, Chelsea, on Wednesday's episode of "The View."

The mother-daughter duo, who werepromoting their new book, "The Book of Gutsy: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience," discussed everything from the Trumpimpeachment inquiry, the president's "mental state," why Clinton thinks she lost the 2016 election and WikiLeaks, the discussion of which produced a bonding moment between her and Meghan McCain.

"I got into it with Pamela Anderson, I don't know if you saw, about Julian Assange," McCain told Clinton, alluding to her argument with the former "Baywatch" actress from early September over Assange, a close friend of Anderson.

"Thank you!" she responded in surprise.

"Because I cannot understand anyone defending WikiLeaks or Julian Assange at this point," McCain added.

In the discussion that ensued, the group discussed Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's recent comments about Elizabeth Warren and Clinton called WikiLeaks "an instrument of Russian intelligence" during the 2016 election. She also called Facebook "careless."

Another moment during the Clintons' appearance on the ABC daytime hit came when they discussed Trump and his "mental state."

"I do think that he knows he's an illegitimate president and because of that he's very insecure about it," she declared. "He's obsessed with the fact that he was helped a lot in unprecedented ways [in the 2016 election]. [...] He accuses other people of doing what he does, and I didn't understand that projection originally. It was so odd. [...] That's a central part of his personality."

In another candid moment, the former Secretary of State for the Obama administration opened up further about her loss in the 2016 presidential election, admitting that she "probably came across as too serious" at the time."

"I really believed that my job, especially as a woman and the first woman to go as far as I did, that I had to help people feel good about a woman in the Oval Office," she admitted. "I may have overcorrected a little bit. [...] I did feel a heavy sense of responsibility."

Other notable moments from Hillary and Chelsea's appearance on "The View" came when they were discussing their new book, which involved Hillary explaining why deciding to stay with her husband, Bill Clinton, following his infamous cheating scandal was the gutsiest thing she's ever done.
