Hillary Clinton to stump for Tom Wolf in Philadelphia

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Wolf is bringing in some political star-power as his campaign enters the home stretch.

He'll be joined by former Secretary of State and likely 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for a "Women for Wolf" event in Philadelphia on Thursday evening.

The event is scheduled for the day after Wolf and Republican Gov. Tom Corbett face off in their third and final debate, which will be held in Pittsburgh.

Pennsylvania is among several states where the former first lady is expected to be pitching in for Democratic gubernatorial contenders. She's also heading to Illinois and Massachusetts, and she hosted fundraiser in Florida this week, according to Politico.

Clinton, who has childhood ties to Scranton, remains popular in the commonwealth. A June poll from Quinnipiac University showed her leading against possible Republican presidential candidates.

Tickets for the Wolf event, which will be held at the National Constitution Center, will be available from Saturday through Wednesday at the Wolf campaign's field offices in Philadelphia, Norristown, Doylestown, West Chester and Media. Doors will open Thursday at 5 p.m.

Polls have shown Wolf with a double-digit lead over Corbett as the Nov. 4 election approaches.

Clinton will appear in at least eight states on behalf of gubernatorial and congressional candidates.
