Calling George Zimmerman a psychopath, the Volusia County woman who got into an altercation with the 31-year-old Lake Mary resident last week told police their argument stemmed from a painting that Zimmerman wanted returned, according to an offense report.

But Zimmerman, 31, who gained national attention after fatally shooting an unarmed black teenager in 2012 and then being acquitted at trial, denied hurling a wine bottle at the woman. Zimmerman claimed that the woman threw the bottle against his garage door, according to the report released Monday by Lake Mary police.

Zimmerman, who has been released from jail, could not be reached Monday. His attorney Don West released a statement: The details in the police report are only part of the story and we are going to wait until we have the whole story before we assess the merits of this very serious charge.

The woman whose name and address were redacted from the report because she is a victim of domestic violence was pulled over by officers on patrol Jan. 5 after they heard glass breaking on Valley Wood Way. The woman was stopped because she was driving away from that street with her headlights turned off, reports state.

The woman told police that she and that psycho Zimmerman got into a fight that evening and that he threw a wine bottle at her as she was leaving his house on Valley Wood Way. The woman also said Zimmerman smashed her cellphone when he threw it on the ground. The woman said the bottle did not hit her, reports state.

Officers noted that the woman had clothes and blankets in the back seat of her car and that she was shaking, mad and crying. The woman said she should have known better than to get into a relationship with George, the report states, but said she had been living with him as a roommate.

She became involved with him at a time when she was emotionally vulnerable, the report states.

She told officers that she had been intimate with Zimmerman and had been living at his residence for the last two to three months; she also said Zimmerman wanted to take the relationship further and she did not.

When officers attempted to contact Zimmerman at his residence, there was no answer at the door even though they could hear a TV blaring and a dog barking inside.
