The Great Wall of China, The Great Pyramid of Giza and Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales.

Who would have thought that one of the Seven Wonders of the World or the next wonder of the world was right here in Central Florida.

Well before you get all National Geographic, dont start celebrataing yet.

Yes, Historic Bok Tower, that tranquil garden setting in Polk County has been nominated at the website VirtualTourist.com, a travel research website and community with some 1.2 million registered members.

But the tower has some stiff competition including Mount Rushmore, Plymouth Rock, Niagara Falls, Old Town Dubrovnik and even the Paul Bunyan statue in Bangor, Maine.

Bok tower was nominated by representatives at Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing (Visit Central Florida) and visitors to the website can cast their vote once every 24-hour period.Voting lasts through Sept. 30.

According to Gardens Director of Marketing and Public Relations Brian Ososky, its a well-deserved honor to be nominated for this designation.

Bok Tower has been a familiar landmark rising over the Central Florida landscape for nearly 85 years and has hosted more than 30 million visitors from all over the world, Ososky said.
