Democracy Action launch campaign on Mana Whenua provisions

Democracy Action has launched an online tool for Aucklanders to tell Len Brown and the Council what they think of the Mana Whenua provisions that affect up to 18,000 Auckland property owners.

Democracy Action founder, Lee Short says:

"Democracy Action is giving Aucklanders a way for their voices to be heard by the Councils decision-makers."

"The response we have received has been fantastic. Our subscribed supporters alone have already sent several thousand emails to Aucklands representatives."

The Mana Whenua provisions have not gone through the standard submission process and infringe every citizens basic property rights along with establishing a significant financial burden on future land development.

"Weve created a tool to ensure that the concerns of Aucklanders, including the more than 1,100 people who submitted against the Mana Whenua provisions, wont be ignored."

The tool is online now at democracyaction.org.nz.
