MedMasters Announces Release of Networking Groups to Its Social Portal
Ponte Vedra, FL (PRWEB) April 01, 2014
MedMasters, the premier social networking site for medical and health care industry professionals, has just released its medical networking Groups platform.
MedMasters, (http://www.medmasters.com) an industry specific, online medical community, has been online for about a year and is continuing its rapid membership growth. Its proprietary job board, directory and social hub features create the most powerful professional networking and career management site for health care and medical personnel.
"By creating our new interactive Groups, we've added an important social component to further help members connect and collaborate with other members who share the same interests," says MedMasters' founder and CEO, Rick Fromme. "The release of our MedConnect Groups makes the professional networking aspect of our site more comprehensive and dynamic by providing members additional ways to network with their peers and develop new relationships. Fromme feels the addition of Groups takes MedMasters' networking capabilities "to entirely new levels. It makes the site exceptionally dynamic and useful for members."
MedConnect Groups let MedMasters' members network, share opportunities, and discuss topics important with people of similar interests. Members can join exclusive groups that only permit members who are of the same professional type or join open groups that aren't restricted to only one's peers. Premium groups consist of peers, the industry's top recruiters, and leading employers, and are designed to aid in the advertisement of jobs and other opportunities.
There are about 50 broad-based groups as part of MedMasters' initial Groups launch, including Medical Sales Groups, Physician Groups, Allied Health Groups, Recruiter Groups, Nursing Groups, Clinical Groups, Healthcare IT Groups, Healthcare Executive Groups and many specialty specific groups. "But there are also more 'socially enjoyable' and general categories," Fromme adds. These include such groups as Social and Humor, Fun and Interesting, Medical News Forum, Medical Events and Conferences, Mingling Singles and others.
Most of the groups are open to all of MedMasters' constituents. "Premium" groups are only available to members who've paid for advanced features of the site (such an Employer Package or a Job Seeker package, which also gives them access to additional site features). Additionally, Fromme points out, recruiters with a "premium" membership can gain access to specific groups to broadcast job opportunities to its particular members.
All groups state specifically which type of members can join them. For example, explains Fromme, there are different types of groups that are exclusive for recruiters. There's a Physician's Recruiter networking group, a Medical Device Sales recruiter networking group and others. Theres alao a Recruiter News group designated for recruiters only. "These are closed-end groups created specifically for recruiters. This allows them to collaborate with other recruiters of the same specialty, do some call outs in their group based upon what they're looking for, or negotiate split commission deals with other recruiters, among other things."
Similarly, there are groups that are specific to doctors, nurses and sales reps. "We've only released about 50 groups initially but have identified at least 500 groups that we'll gradually release," Fromme says. These additional groups will be based upon what people do in the health care industry. If you're a cardiologist, or if you're a neurologist, we're going to create groups that are specific to your profession and job function." The same holds true for medical sales. "If youre a representative who specializes in podiatry, spinal hardware sales, orthopedic sports medicine, or ENT, we're going to have separate groups for those."
If members feel there are certain groups they'd like to see added, they can contact MedMasters directly to suggest additional categories. "We want to make certain there is a community aspect to the site that can continually be built out. That's very important. We've already nailed down the job board aspect, now we're making the community hub much more robust with the instigation of Groups, which are based on the professional interest of those who are in the medical and health care communities."
