ICYMI: Dr. Paul Forces Senate Vote on Amendment to Prevent Government Bailouts of Mismanaged States – Senator Rand Paul

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 1, 2024 Contact: Press_Paul@paul.senate.gov, 202-224-4343

WASHINGTON, D.C. Yesterday, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) forced a Senate vote on his amendment to a temporary government funding bill which would prevent government bailouts of mismanaged states across the United States.

Dr. Pauls amendment prohibits the Federal Reserve from purchasing or selling state and municipal debt. Additionally, it prevents the central bank from circumventing Congress to unilaterally provide a financial bailout of profligate states, the costs of which would be borne by the taxpayers through the form of forced subsidized losses or through the hidden tax of inflation.

You can read Dr. Pauls amendmentHERE.

Rand Paul comes out swinging against COVID response in speechand – Camarillo Acorn

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky pulled no punches, beginning his visit at the Reagan Library on Feb. 20 by echoing a question often posed by his wife, Kelley: Why hasnt Anthony Fauci been arrested?

Addressing the audience, Paul stated, Its not for lack of trying. Listening from the front row of the Simi Valley presidential library was his wife.

In his book, Deception: The Great COVID Cover-Up, released on Oct. 10, Paul criticizes what he perceives as the failures of the public health system during the pandemic. He lays much of the blame on Fauci, who served as director from 1984 to 2022 of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which is part of the U.S. National Institutes of Health.

David Trulio, president and CEO of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, praised the senators fearlessness in speaking uncomfortable truths and challenging conventional wisdom.

We are fortunate indeed to have with us this evening a courageous and principled leader, a key voice in both the medical profession and the U.S. Senate, Trulio said to the several hundred people in attendance.

Paul, an ophthalmologist, asserts that Fauci, a physician and immunologist, misled the nation regarding COVIDs origins and stifled scientific opposition.

In his book, Paul contends that the new virus likely originated from research performed at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China, partly financed by NIAID. He alleges that taxpayer funds for this research were deceitfully redirected to Wuhan without proper oversight.

Paul accuses Fauci and his allies of knowing COVIDs origins, silencing dissent and being driven by financial motives. Faucis influence led to harsh lockdowns, causing significant personal economic damage to American citizens, he said.

The reason I wrote this book isnt just about putting Anthony Fauci in jail, although I wont complain if thats the result. Really, the reason why I wrote this book is trying to keep this from happening again, Paul said.

Paul announced that he has sent a criminal referral to the U.S. Department of Justice, alleging Fauci lied to Congress about funding for gain-of-function research being conducted by the U.S. National Institutes of Health. Gain-of- function research genetically alters an organism in a way that may enhance the biological functions of gene products. Scientists do this to assess the potential dangers of highly infectious diseases so they can be better prepared to combat them. But if such a highly contagious virus escapes from a laboratory, it could spark a worldwide pandemic.

Paul claimed that emails obtained through the Freedom of Information Act incriminate Fauci, revealing his admission to deceiving the public and members of a congressional committee.

The lab evidence is overwhelming, Paul said. Republicans are investigating in the House, but until Democrats take notice, legislative change remains elusive.

Paul said it was important to avoid future mishaps and suggested that U.S.-funded lab research be regulated. He has proposed legislation for an independent research oversight committee, but faces Democratic resistance.

In response, Fauci accused Paul during the 2022 congressional committee meeting of distorting everything about me, and said that Pauls false claims have had a direct effect on his and his familys safety.

Fauci has written his own memoir called On Call: A Doctors Journey in Public Service. It will be released June. 18.

I hope that this memoir will serve as a personalized document for the reader to understand better the daunting challenges that we have faced in public health over the past 40 years, Fauci said in a statement in early February.

If another virus should emerge, Paul said he opposes lockdowns.

Never again should we be put in this situation. Never again should we allow them to come into our schools, or set one foot into our churches, he said.

Paul, who was making his third visit to the Reagan Library, criticized universal vaccine mandates, including for members of the armed forces, and praised the removal of the military mandate. He advocated for reinstating and compensating service members who were dismissed for vaccine refusal.

If Republicans were in control, it would happen, he said.

Paul said liberty requires eternal vigilance.

Im going to keep on fighting with every breath I have. I appreciate your support and I hope you will fight alongside me, he said.

An audience member asked how Californians can let legislators know they want their country back.

Never, ever let Gavin Newsom anywhere near the White House, he responded to big applause. I think were united on that one.

Senator Rand Paul seeks to block Biden sale of F-16s to Turkey Public Radio of Armenia – Public Radio of Armenia Official Web site

Senator Rand Paul, a Kentucky Republican serving on the Foreign Relations Committee, has introduced legislation to block President Bidens proposed sale of U.S. F-16 fighter jets to Turkey, a move strongly supported by the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).

The Paul Resolution, a privileged measure entitled to an up-or-down vote of the full U.S. Senate, would prohibit a broad array of weapons systems, in addition to the pending sale of F-16s. The resolutions predicate is Section 36(b)(1) of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) of 1976.

Turkey is today a NATO ally in name only an increasingly hostile state that undermines our American interests, attacks our regional allies, and rejects our democratic values, said ANCA Executive Director Aram Hamparian. President Biden shouldnt ship Ankara a single bullet, much less one of our most advanced weapons systems arms that will surely be deployed against Greeks, Cypriots, Kurds, and Armenians as they were during Azerbaijans 2020 attack on Artsakh.

Senator Pauls joint resolution of disapproval would help reassert Congress crucial oversight role over arms sales, and force a long-overdue public conversation about the U.S.-Turkey relationship. Extensive civil society reporting and successive State Department reports document that Turkey is not statutorily eligible for either U.S. security assistance or military sales. This measure would bring actual Administration policy into alignment with U.S. law.
