Paris Hilton living for the moment

Paris Hilton is living for the moment and refusing to let her critics bring her down.

The 31-year-old socialite - who is currently vacationing in Europe - has decided to stop spending time worrying about consequences and is refusing to be upset be her critics.

She tweeted: ' Life becomes so much better when you decide not to care. Just live for the moment and don't let the anyone or anything bring you down.'

Paris has spent the last few days on the Spanish island of Ibiza with her sister Nicky and some of her friends and the group have found a balance between hard partying and relaxing nights in.

In a series of tweets, she wrote: 'In Ibiza, staying in tonight. Relaxing. Finallly got the wi-fi service to work.#YES! Will post some pics of my European summer vacation. 🙂

'What an incredible time last night at @UshuaiaIbiza! Love watching@DavidGuetta play, so many sick songs! So much fun at @UshuaiaIbiza with @NickyHilton the Party Queen@CathyGuetta! She throws the best parties...

'Love having bikini fun in the sun! 😉 I love Ibiza! Such a fun beautiful island (sic)'

However, Paris' Ibiza break isn't lasting long as on Thursday she is planning to party in Cannes, France.

She tweeted earlier this week: 'Can't wait for my party this Thursday at GOTHA in Cannes! One of my favorite nightclubs

'So excited for my party this Thursday at @GothaClub in Cannes. One of my favorite nightclubs! (sic)'

Playlist: 10 tracks you need to hear

Listen to our ten favourite new tracks this week, including Alicia Keys, Lady GaGa and Muse.

Alicia Keys: 'New Day' Following up 2009's The Element of Freedom is going to be no mean feat for Alicia Keys, but judging by this new track she released online last week, she's taking it all in her stride. Better yet, she's steered clear of the current dance trend in favour of classic R&B beats. RC

The Bullitts: 'World Inside Your Rainbow' (out now) UK band The Bullitts are quickly rising through the ranks of the music biz, which has so far led to three of their songs being labelled 'The Hottest Record in the World' by Radio 1's Zane Lowe. With their own brand of evocative, summery and reggae-flecked sound , it's not difficult to see why. RC

Little Mix: 'Wings' (released August 19) Before the last piece of confetti has even hit the arena floor during the X Factor finale result, the public speculate over what the winning act's first single proper will be like. For 2011 winners Little Mix, the answer is a blooming good pop tune complete with clap-happy beats, sassy brass and harmonies tighter than the government's budget. LC

Lady GaGa: 'Princess Die' According to GaGa herself, this track that she debuted at a concert last week "may or may not" be on her next album. As the title suggests it's not the most upbeat of numbers, but given she insists that it's in "no way reflective of the rest of the sound of the album", we'll enjoy it while we can. RC

Muse: 'Survival' (out now) Nobody expected Muse's comeback track to be the official soundtrack to the London 2012 Olympics. However, with their traditional blend of British alternative rock and a chorus bigger than the Olympic Stadium, it's a decision well judged. LC

George Michael: 'White Light' (released August 12) Truth be told, we're still not 100% convinced on George Michael's latest effort, but we're pleased to have him back all the same. While the lyrics leave little to the imagination ("I'm back, prouder than ever baby"), his voice remains as striking as ever. RC

Lupe Fiasco: 'Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)' (release date tbc) The frustratingly under-appreciated rapper finally found US success with last year's Lasers, though he is yet to fully establish himself in British waters. 'Around My Way' is the lead track from his upcoming two-part album called Food & Liquor II and sees him blending vintage soul with his sharp and intriguing rhymes. RC

Aiden Grimshaw: 'Curtain Call' (released August 12) It's rare that a contestant from The X Factor who finished in ninth place gets a fully-fledged shot at stardom, but an undeniable talent like Aiden Grimshaw is far from the traditional talent show mould. 'Curtain Call' reinforces the star's alternative approach to life after The X Factor with a burly but soulful '90s-sounding ballad. LC

Bastille: 'Bad Blood' (released August 20) Dan Smith-fronted band Bastille have quickly cemented themselves as the UK's most exciting new alternative act. After releasing debut single 'Overjoyed', performing shows across the country and recording a sublime cover of Corona's 'Rhythm of the Night', new cut 'Bad Blood' will only continue to increase their ever-growing fanbase. Essex Chronicle commented New £2.5m Chelmsford nightclub Evoke to open next month

ONCE a haven for rock and roll greats, Chelmsford's iconic Chancellor Hall will reopen in two weeks as the Evoke nightclub.

With an ice bar, Japanese VIP lounge and an Ibiza-style dance floor, Evoke's creator Steve Webb is confident it will add sophistication to the city's night scene after the closure of Dukes, which had been synonymous with the city's nightlife for 30 years.

Partying with Pride: This year’s DC Black Pride nightlife returns in a big way

Ashanti will perform at Fur Nightclub this Friday, May 25, as part of a ''mega party'' for DC Black Pride. It's purportedly the R&B singer's first headlining gig at a gay event. And to think that's only one of nearly a dozen official nightlife parties this weekend.

This year's DC Black Pride nightlife, in other words, returns in a big way.

Ashanti

''For the past couple years, DC Black Pride segmented and separated,'' says Kenya Hutton, an executive board member for the organization. ''We're trying to bring everyone back together to have one DC Black Pride instead of three or four as in previous years. DC Black Pride, as an organization has worked really hard in offering a substantial weekend, and in trying to bring everyone in to work and party together.''

The DC Black Pride entity has officially partnered this year with Omega Entertainment for most of the nightlife events. The local men's promoting powerhouse, which has put on its own Chocolate City Pride the last three years, has worked with DC Black Pride to turn many of Washington's best and biggest nightclubs, usually straight, gay for pay. It's also offering a twist on the typical pool party with the Island Inferno party Sunday night, May 27, at Cameron Run's Great Waves Water Park in Alexandria.

Omega Entertainment kicks off the first of three parties on Thursday, May 24, at Northeast's Layla Lounge with a Genesis party. The swanky venue will also play host to Saturday night's The Manhunt with what Omega bills as ''a surprise celebrity performance'' at 2 a.m. and Monday night's closing party Apocalypse.

A few blocks west, Northeast's Ibiza Nightclub plays host to a late-afternoon party on its rooftop Saturday, May 26. Later that night, starting at 10 p.m., DC Black Pride throws its own Soul Train Dance Party with local legend DJ Mandrill at the host hotel, the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill. And in the wee hours of that night or really Sunday morning Northeast's lesbian-owned Lace Nightclub offers Omega's After Party, appropriately called Insomniac, complete with breakfast buffet.

After the party Sunday afternoon at the Virginia waterpark, Love Nightclub plays host to one of the weekend's biggest events, called Klimax, with a performance by R&B singer Teairra Mari and a $5,000 cash drop.

Sunday afternoon also ushers in the free 4th Annual ULIVE Memorial Day BBQ in Anacostia's River Terrace Park, geared specifically for women.

Omega Entertainment bills its parties as ''the most affordable good time on Earth.'' Though the major evening parties cost $45 each, a limited number of all-access passes are available for just $90.

PERFECT VIEW: People walk along a beach on the outskirts of Havana during sunset.

If you've graduated then it's time to celebrate your glorious release from academia. In that spirit, online travel adviser Travel Ticker offers its top 10 graduate destinations. Reuters has not endorsed this list:

1. Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam is not only home to some of the best historic and artistic attractions, but it's also one of the most fun and young European cities on the other side of the Atlantic. This makes it a great destination for recent grads to experience a fantastic mix of culture and nightlife. Some notable attractions include the beautiful canals, Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum and old Heineken brewery. Also, with welcoming locals and bicycle-friendly streets, it's easy to seamlessly fit into Amsterdam while enjoying all that it has to offer. The best time for grads to get a great deal and avoid crowds will be October through April.

2. Havana, Cuba

Great news! The island of Cuba is no-longer off-limits to Americans, which means they can finally experience the city of Havana's thrilling nightlife, lively culture and Cuba's sunny beaches. With a tropical climate year-round, travellers can expect great temperatures to follow them as they wander through the colourful streets, explore the beautiful colonial architecture and cathedrals, and enjoy exciting Cuban music all in sandals and shorts. 3. Dublin, Ireland

Let's be honest, the first thing many recent grads are hoping to do is to mark the occasion with a party, and nobody knows how to celebrate like the Irish. Dublin, one of Europe's most youthful cities, is not only known for its abundance of pubs, but also for its locals who are famous for making any day a day to party. And with its beautiful green scenery, maritime climate and cool summers where the sunniest days are directly after graduation (May and June), Dublin is a great city to raise a glass to your new degree.
