Odds slashed on Nick Clegg resignation
That means if you put 1 on the Liberal Democrat leader's resignation you will get just 1.83 back if he decides to go.
Polls show that the Lib Dems have slumped from 23 per cent at the last election to an average of 7 per cent.
On a uniform national swing that would leave them with just 21 Commons seats, fewer than half their current total of 56.
A ICM/Guardian poll shows Mr Clegg's personal net rating has fallen to a record low of -42 per cent, which means 17 per cent think he is doing well and 59 per cent think he is doing badly.
Yesterday Ed Davey, the Liberal Democrat Energy Secretary, said that voters have "fallen out of love" with Mr Clegg.
He added that the "Cleggmania" which defined the leadership debates of the 2010 election had now disappeared.
Instead the opinion polls clearly show that the public have now fallen out of love with the Liberal Democrat leader and he would have to rely on earning Clegg-respect, he said.
