China News - December 20, 2012: Wang Lijun Expos, Offensive Dumpster Sign
In today #39;s NTD China News, an expos on Wang Lijun published by the Southern Weekly magazine has been widely popular, with reports it #39;s now been recalled. Chung Ting-pang, a Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioner abducted in the mainland earlier this year has testified at a US congressional hearing in Washington DC. The government in Bijie city of Guizhou province sparked fresh outrage, after it posted signs on dumpsters warning people and animals not to enter. It comes after five local boys died in a dumpster in November, after they climbed in to keep warm. A Chinese trade delegation has pledged to curb software piracy by state-owned firms, after a two-day trade meeting with US officials. VPN service providers have reported that their servers are being blocked in China. State-run media says foreign providers are not legally allowed to operate without registration, denying the regime has stepped up internet censorship. More Chinese netizens say they trust information on Weibo, rather than state-run CCTV. It #39;s December 21st, 2012 in China. So far, all is well on the last day on the Mayan calendar.From:NTDonChinaViews:3 0ratingsTime:15:18More inShows

EFJ debates about press freedom and freedom of expression in Turkey 19Dec2012 – Video

EFJ debates about press freedom and freedom of expression in Turkey 19Dec2012
The European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) is organizing a press conference on "Press freedom and freedom of expression - What #39;s wrong with Turkey ?" next Wednesday 19 December 2012 at 11 am with Ragip Zarakolu (Turkish columnist, writer, publisher) and Philippe Leruth (Belgian journalist, EFJ #39;s vice-president). Journalist and publisher Ragip Zarakolu has been subject to a lifetime of harassment from the Turkish authorities. After graduating college in 1968, Zarakolu began writing for magazines such as Ant and Yeni Ufuklar, both of which focused on issues of social justice in Turkey. After the 1971 Coup he was imprisoned for three years for his writings. In 1977, Zarakolu and his wife Ayse Nur founded the Belge Publishing House which has been a focus for censorship since its inception. Zarakolu #39;s office was firebombed by an extremist rightist group in 1995. Zarakolu, in spite of many legal proceedings and his recent imprisonmentin the frame of KCK Trial, continues to write articles to the daily newspapers such as Birgn, Evrensel and zgr Gndem. He is also the chairman of the Freedom to Publish Committee of the Publishers #39; Union of Turkey (TYB) and member of the same committee of the International Publishers #39; Association (IPA). The Journalists #39; Association of Turkey (TGC) awarded him in 2007 as a prominent defender of the freedom of expression. Earlier in October 2011, the EFJ condemned the arrestation of Ragip Zarakolu with 40 other people during a vast "anti ...From:livefrombrusselsViews:46 0ratingsTime:41:10More inNews Politics

Allied Artists Fights Censorship – Video

Allied Artists Fights Censorship
During heavy metal #39;s heyday, a fringe group of moralists calling themselves the Parents Material Resource Center ("PMRC") fought to censor or rate records in the aftermath of a troubled youth #39;s suicide, attributed to lyrics from an Ozzy Osbourne album. Calls to completely eradicate heavy metal or to enact strict censorship laws prohibiting certain lyrics in music were running ramped, spawning the PMRC. Allied Artists CEO and Chairman, Kim Richards (Pink Floyd, Renegade, Robbie Dupree, David Nauhton, Luis Cardenas, Kevin Dubrow), took to the airwaves with none other than Donny Osmond, to fight the PMRC #39;s effort. Richards and Osmond appeared all over the country as well as before Congress fighting the effort. In the end, the PMRC compromised and the industry accepted "voluntary" warning labels, to be used at the individual record company #39;s discretion. Had it not been for the efforts of Allied Artists, Kim Richards, Donny Osmond and many other industry luminaries who oppose censorship, the PMRC #39;s efforts may well have changed history and curbed our First Amendment rights! Another Guilty Plea in Mississippi Hate Crime Death – Video

Another Guilty Plea in Mississippi Hate Crime Death
**Fight Censorship on YouTube** Mississippi -- A fourth man has pleaded guilty to a federal hate crime in the death of a black man who was beaten by a gang of young whites, then run over by a pickup truck driven by one of them in Mississippi in 2011. In a separate but related case, another Mississippi man admitted he was part of a group of whites who carried out other racial attacks against African-Americans around the same time. William Kirk Montgomery, 23, from Puckett, Mississippi, pleaded guilty Tuesday to federal hate-crime charges in the death of James Craig Anderson, who was murdered on June 26, 2011, in Jackson, Mississippi, the prosecutor says. Jonathan Gaskamp, 20, admitted to two federal hate crime charges in other attacks carried out on other African-Americans in or around Jackson. Dog Vlog 3 – We have to talk about WarZ… – Video

Dog Vlog 3 - We have to talk about WarZ...
I will no longer be creating any more WarZ content. I have observed the WarZ development for a long time, and have played the game since initial alpha release. I went into the game with hope that it could eventually become a good experience, and something different to DayZ, and that the games could coexist peacefully, it seems that this was a huge missjudgement on my part. Hammerpoint #39;s business practices up to this point have been.. "questionable" at best, but the recent blatant false advertisement on Steam and the huge censorship on the forums has resulted to me coming to the decision that I do not want to associate my self with this game any longer, and thus I will no longer be creating any more content from this game. Apologies to all Jim Links to reasons why I feel that I must act on recent information: http://www.reddit.com http://www.warzcentral.com uk.pc.gamespy.comFrom:SupahJimViews:32 6ratingsTime:02:36More inGaming
