Sharpton calls for peace, says he's received death threats

The Rev. Al Sharpton called for peace Sunday and revealed he has received death threats from people blaming him and Mayor de Blasio for the killing of two police officers.

This is a pursuit of justice to make the system work fairly for everyone, Sharpton told reporters gathered at the Harlem headquarters of the National Action Network. This is not about taking things into our own hands. That doesnt solve the problem of police misconduct.

Sharpton also played a voicemail threat left on his cell phone.

Sharpton: Our city is hurting from the vicious murder of two NYPD officers

"Hey, n-----, stop killing innocent people, I'm going to get you!" the voicemail said.

Sharpton reported the threat to the FBI.

We are now under intense threat by those who are misguided and those who are trying to blame everyone from civil rights leaders to the mayor," he said.

Sharpton was flanked by Eric Garner's widow and mother, who both condemned the shooting death of two NYPD cops Saturday afternoon.

Ismaaiyl Brinsley, the shooter, bragged about wanting to kill cops on Instagram hours before he ambushed the officers, Rafael Ramos, 40, and Wenjian Liu, 32, as they sat in their marked patrol car parked on Tompkins Ave. near Myrtle Ave.

An Instagram post on his account before the shooting included three hashtags: ShootThePolice, RIPErivGarner (sic) and RIP MikeBrown.

James Woods blasts Al Sharpton in Twitter rant blaming Rev for recent police deaths

NEW YORK, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Actor James Woods offered strong words for civil rights activist and television pundit Al Sharpton on Twitter, accusing the Baptist minister of inspiring the murder of two New York police officers by leading protests against police violence.

After a three month absence from Twitter, Woods returned to the social media platform to blast Sharpton, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and the Obama administration.

In a tweet, Woods asserted Sharpton was "directly responsible" for the deaths of officer Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, who were fatally shot while sitting in their patrol car on Saturday.

Woods has since continued to criticizing Sharpton, whom Woods accuses of being a "race-hustler."

Despite Woods' strong words for Sharpton, the Once Upon a Time in America star also tweeted support for Emerald Garner, daughter of Eric, after she called for solidarity between those who demonstrate against police violence and the police whose culture demonstrators seek to change.

Woods' "long time" friend and political opposite Alec Baldwin took to Twitter to address Woods' rant, but Woods said he chose ignore Baldwin's comments for the sake of their friendship.

Correction: An earlier version of this story said Woods had deleted the tweet where he says Sharpton is "directly responsible" for the murder of the policemen. Woods did not delete the tweet.

Sharpton is shamelessly aiding North Korea by attacking Sony

Not only is Al Sharpton giving a victory to terrorists hes using them to advance his agenda, his name and his bank account.

On Thursday, Sharpton met with Amy Pascal, the head of Sony, and said the jury is still out on whether he supports her having a job (as if his support should matter at all). All because of jokes she made in a private email, suggesting she ask President Obama if he liked a movie about slaves. The message was only made public because it was hacked by North Korea as part of a vendetta.

How many of us would escape embarrassment if our private messages were made public?

More to the point: Hey, Al, why dont you release all your correspondences, and well see if you have ever said anything offensive?

People say and write things in jest that in no way indicate the type of person they truly are. A moment in time does not equal the sum total of who someone is.

Im disgusted that in a battle between a free society and a dictatorship, too many people are focused on a joke. The very same people who cry for freedom of speech are the ones who are helping to stop it.

The Reverend Al Sharpton doesnt really care about Pascal, one of the few female executives in Hollywood. (I put reverend in quotes because I have been taught a very different definition of what a reverend is, and its not someone who is a hate-monger, and practices little Christian forgiveness.) He cares about his own influence, about the advisory panel he will have in Hollywood.

Think about that for a moment. Kim Jong-un and Al Sharpton to help decide what movies you can see. Oh joy!

Some have gone so far as to compare the Pascal emails with producer Scott Rudin to what Donald Sterling said. Those people are either misguided or ignorant. Sterling not only said incredibly offensive things and beyond, he showed a pattern of racism over the years. It took a public embarrassment for the NBA to finally deal with a problem they knew they had. No one has shown a pattern of Pascal or Rudin of being prejudiced or racist.

In fact, what has been shown is quite the opposite. Pascal gave a lot to President Obamas campaign and to the Democratic Party. And Rudin gave the lead role in Sister Act to Whoopi Goldberg which was originally written for a white woman and produced Chris Rocks Top Five.
