Trump Says Immigrant Gang Members ‘Slice and Dice’ Young, Beautiful Girls – Newsweek

President Donald Trump compared America to a nation under wartime occupation that needs to be liberated from illegal immigrants during a Make America Great Again rally in Ohio Tuesday night.

Trump said illegal immigrant gang members are like animals and that theyre not using guns to kill people because it's too fast and it's not painful enough.

He claimed gang members will take a young, beautiful girl, 16, 15 and others and they slice them and dice them with a knife because they want them to go through excruciating pain before they die.

The president didnt cite a specific example of this happening, but Fox News reported July 19 about how young girls associated with the gang MS-13 were used to lure four men from a rival gang to a Long Island New York park in April before gang members hacked the men to death with machetes. Some of the young men who died were the children of immigrants.

Several murders on Long Island have been linked to the gang. In March, gang members were charged with the September 2016 killing of two teen girls who were also hacked to death.

We are throwing MS-13 the hell out of here so fast, Trump said during the rally in Youngstown, Ohio. We are cracking down hard on the foreign criminal gangs that have brought illegal drugs, violence, horrible bloodshed to peaceful neighborhoods all across our country, he said.

The MS-13 gang was originally founded in Los Angeles, California, in the 1980s and has since spread throughout the U.S. and to Mexico and Central America. Members are mainly from El Salvador.

Trump said that people are screaming from their windows, thank you, thank you to the border patrol and to General Kelly's great people that come in and grab these thugs and throw them the hell out.

Were liberating our towns, and were liberating our cities. Can you believe we have to do that? he asked. Trump said that this is not being done in a politically correct fashion. Were doing it rough.

Trump said he is cracking down on "sanctuary cities" which don't require local law enforcement officers to arrest undocumented immigrants. On Tuesday Attorney General Jeff Sessions moved to make federal grants to local law enforcement more difficult if police don't help more withfederal immigration enforcement.

Police chiefs from major cities across the U.S. have said doing this will make their job of fighting local crime more difficult as it will deter witnesses and victims from coming forward.

Early this year Trump signed a pair of executive orders directing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to round up illegal immigrants who have previously been charged with even minor non-violent crimes.

In the hundred days after those orderswere signed, arrests of illegal immigrants rose 38 percent from the previous year. Yet deportations also shrank 12 percent during the same period.

Illegal immigration to the U.S. has shrunk overall during Trumps administration, falling by more than 61 percent.

By and large, those arrested under Trumps executive orders have been undocumented immigrants who have not committed a violent crime.

Between January 22 and April 29, ICE made 10,800 non-criminal arrests compared to just 4,200 during the same period in 2016.There are many examples of families whohave been separated in these instances.

Report: Mike Pence Is The Driving Force Behind Trump’s Transgender Ban For The US Military – UPROXX

When Donald Trump announced a new ban on transgender members in the U.S. military Wednesday, he claimed in the first of three tweets that hed [consulted] with my generals and military experts before making the decision. According to the general response from Defense Department officials and Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain, however, they had no idea the presidents ban was coming. A new report by The Daily Beast instead hints that the so-called generals and military experts behind the new policy were actually Vice President Mike Pence and Chief Strategist Steve Bannon.

Per The Daily Beast, White House sources claim Pence has been pushing hard for this kind of policy shift in the military for some time. So too, unsurprisingly, has former Breitbart executive turned Trump campaign chairman Steve Bannon, who now serves on the White House staff. Whats more, another source indicated that the transgender ban would do well with his base, especially leaders of Christian far-right groups and socially-conservative voters. Considering Trumps recent campaign rally in Ohio (and others prior, though following his November election victory), this doesnt seem all that surprising.

It sure as hell surprised officials at the Pentagon, the Defense Department and the Senate Armed Services Committee, all of whom are typically informed of major policy shifts in advance. According to the Wall Street Journal, one official said Trumps Wednesday morning tweets [were] the first we heard about it. Though thats not to say they didnt know the White House was considering it, as Defense Secretary Jim Mattis asked the administration for six months to study the possible effects of transgender military enlistment back in June. Even so, as one official explained it to the New York Times, Mattis request didnt hinge on an eventual ban, but merely time to finesse the situation.

Vice President Mike Pence on Wednesday said he stood behind President Donald Trumps "candid remarks on Attorney General Jeff Sessions, while stressing that he and the president appreciate his good work at the Justice Department.

Pence praised the president for what he said was speaking openly to the American public, during an interview on Fox News.

The vice president said that Trump's string of criticisms aimed at Sessions are not evidence that the attorney general's work at the Department of Justice is unappreciated.

One of the great things about this president is you always know where you stand, Pence told Fox News during an interview airing Wednesday night. He speaks candidly, he speaks openly, he's expressed his disappointment [in Sessions].

Pence added: But that doesn't mean that we don't recognize the good work the Justice Department has been doing under the attorney general's leadership.

The vice president pointed to Sessions' work on combating gang violence and illegal immigration, as well as his efforts to stop cities from operating as safe havens for undocumented immigrants, as examples of successes.

When asked about Sessions' future, Pence echoed remarks by Trump, who said Tuesday that time will tell what will happen with the attorney general.

We will see what happens in the future, but at least the American people know and every member of the cabinet can know that you will always know where you stand with President Trump, Pence said.

Donald Trump Is Reportedly Seeking Revenge On Alaska Over Health Care Vote – HuffPost

PresidentDonald Trumpmade clear his dissatisfaction with Sen.Lisa Murkowski(R-Alaska)Wednesday,whenhe tweetedthat she let down her party and the nation by voting againstRepublicans attempts to repealObamacare.

But apparently Trumps public disapproval is not the only way the administration plans to make his anger known.

TheAlaska Dispatch Newsreported Wednesday night that Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke called Murkowski and fellow Alaskan Sen. Dan Sullivan (R) after Tuesdays health care vote to let them knowher positionhad put some of their state-specific projects in jeopardy particularly those pertaining to energy.

Sullivan told the outlet that Zinkes phone call carried a troubling message, and the interior secretary made it clear to him that the call was in response to Murkowski voting no on the motion to proceed on Tuesday.

She was only one of two Republicans, along with Sen.Susan Collins(Maine), to break from party lines on the vote.

While Murkowski did not respond to Alaska Dispatch News requests for comment regarding the phone call, the senator seemed unfazed by the presidents attempts at publicly shaming her.

Were here to govern. Were here to legislate,Murkowski told MSNBCafter Trump sent his tweet. Were here to represent the people who sent us here. Every day shouldnt be about campaigning.

Murkowski does not face reelection until 2022.
