WASHINGTON A Baton Rouge police officer left permanently disabled after a black separatist killed three policemen and injured three more in a shootout is now suing Black Lives Matter for inciting violence across the United States, and one author thinks this may be the lawsuit that puts to an end the violent BLM movement.

The suit, filed by an anonymous victim of the gunmans deadly ambush on police, names Deray Mckesson and four other Black Lives Matter leaders as defendants.

Mckesson, who has met with former President Obama in the White House, is a prominent organizer for Black Lives Matter.

Gavin Long, a 29-year-old Marine, targeted police outside a convenience store near the Baton Rouge police headquarters in July 2016, opening fire with a semi-automatic rifle. He was killed after a shootout with police.

Anyone who remembers how the Southern Poverty Law Center made its bones will rejoice at the news of this lawsuit, Colin Flaherty, author of White Girl Bleed A Lot, told WND.

The SPLC sued the [Klu Klux Klan] and won a large judgment because it convinced a jury that the Klan was fomenting violence around the country. Whatever the Klan did, however the Klan did it, it is plain to see that Black Lives Matter encourages the same violence with two big differences: 1) People actually listened to BLM. 2) There was tons and tons of violence associated with BLM activities all over the country.

Flaherty added both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders supported BLM or used BLM talking points during the 2016 election.

And they were not hiding anything: Just the opposite, violence against police was one of their major themes, Flaherty said. They called it self-defense, and they were successful in convincing a large number of their members that attacking police was just fine because it was self-defense or retribution.

Flaherty, who has extensively studied and documented the violence committed by BLM, believes the damage from BLM riots is beyond calculation.

In Baltimore, more than 60 business owners are filing the same kind of suit against the city, saying the city encouraged then allowed large-scale black mob violence against their business, Flaherty said, adding, I would love to sit on this jury.

Long had said he wanted to bring the same destruction that bad cops continue to inflict upon my people, upon bad cops as well as good cops in hopes that the good cops (which are the majority) will be able to stand together to enact justice and punishment against bad cops.

Before the attack, Long searched online for the addresses of police officers involved in the fatal shooting of Alton Sterling, a black man killed by police outside a store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Sterlings death fueled Black Lives Matter protests across the country, and led to a local protest in Baton Rouge that saw nearly 200 people arrested.

The recently filed lawsuit notes that DeRay Mckesson was in charge of the Baton Rouge protests, and reports that the protest turned into a riot.

Rather than work to calm the crowd, Mckesson allegedly incited the protesters to riot and commit violence, the suit claims.

The suit further claims that Black Live Matters leaders encourage violence against police generally, especially in retaliation for the death of black men killed by police.

Im very intrigued by this lawsuit and anxious to see how the courts rule on it, said Jeff Roorda, a retired police officer and a four-term Missouri state representative who currently works for the St. Louis Police Officers Association. We have a balancing test in the courts in this country that weighs the importance of free speech against the recklessness of dishonest, dangerous words.

Itll be interesting to see if the court holds BLM and its leaders to the same standards that the rest of we Americans are held to.

Before Longs shooting in Baton Rouge, Micah Xavier Johnson killed five police officers and injured nine others in another allegedly Black Lives Matter-inspired attack in Dallas, Texas.

Johnson claimed he was angry over police killings of black men and stated he wanted to kill white people, namely white police officers, according to Dallas Police Chief David Brown.

Barack Obama claimed at the time that it was very hard to untangle the motives surrounding the Dallas attack.

The so-called random violence against police officers in Dallas, Baton Rouge, and so many other places isnt random at all, Roorda, author of The War on Police: How the Ferguson Effect is Making America Unsafe, told WND. This hate-inspired violence based on the hands-up, dont shoot lie has to stop.

Johnsons social media included an image with the slogan Black Power, and he had expressed interest in the Facebook page of the New Black Panther Party, the Washington Post reports.

The plaintiff in the case is reportedly a 42-year-old father of two and an 18-year veteran of law enforcement.

The plaintiff was left with brain damage after being shot by Long, and only recently emerged from a vegetative state.

The suit asks for at least $75,000 in damages.

This is the second lawsuit filed against Mckesson by a Baton Rouge police officer.

A previously filed lawsuit claims that Mckesson was responsible for injuries sustained by police during the Baton Rouge protests. A federal judge has yet to rule on whether the lawsuit will move forward.

Mckesson himself was arrested during the Alton Sterling protests, but charges were never brought against him.

The truth is that cops are getting shot and killed by the same criminals who are committing the black-on-black violence that plagues our inner cities, Roorda believes.

Lets stop pretending that those who turn violence against the protectors of our most vulnerable are some sort of martyrs. Theyre not. Theyre just murderers.

Dana Loesch had liberals curling up in the fetal position when she urged her fellow conservatives to "fight this violence of lies [referring to media bias and the Lefts prime choice of protest] with the clenched fist of truth in an ad for the NRA. *Gasp.*

Ironically, Loesch, who was condemning violence and hateful, divisive rhetoric, was accused of inciting violence and declaring civil war.

On Wednesday, members of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Black Lives Matter Movement - and their allies, including Dignity and Power Now, The Reverence Project, RISIST, and Defend Movement - decided to join in on the Loesch-bashing fun and released their own video in response to the NRAs aggressive, fear-mongering video tactics.

In the video, a member from the LA Chapter is seen calling the NRAs ads dangerous propaganda that emboldens gun-toting racists.

We will continue to produce media, teach students, march and protest to not only protect the First Amendment as fiercely as the NRA protects the Second, but to protect our lives from gun-toting racists, she declares.

Of course, liberals only want protect the First Amendment rights of those who share their opinions and fight for their cause. Anyone who disagrees with them or says something they dont like should automatically be silenced, hence why the videos narrator goes on to demand the NRA immediately remove its (constitutionally protected) ads.

Thankfully, NRA TVs Colion Noir wasnt about to let BLM get away with peddling these absurd claims about the Second Amendments rights organization.

In an episode of Commentators, Noir first calls out BLM for losing sight of its original mission and turning into a weaponized, race-baiting machine, pushing the extreme liberal-Democratic agenda, calling everything and anything that doesnt fit their agenda white supremacy.

He then goes on to dispel the notion that the NRAs members are all a bunch of racists and lists the (many, many) things the organization has done for the black community and black gun owners: Say what you want about the NRA, but its done more for black gun rights and the image of black gun owners in this country than the bought and paid-for Black Lives Matter ever has.

Noir, who himself is a gun-owner and NRA member, notes that, you don't get asked what race you are when you join the NRA, there wasnt a whites only sign at the annual convention. There are no secrets here.

The NRA isnt the one telling me I shouldn't be owning guns because Im black. White, liberal politicians are," he adds.

At the end of the video, Noir offers some friendly advice for the Black Lives Matter Movement before signing off.

Oh, by the way," he says, speaking directly to BLM activists, "next time you make a video declaring you fiercely defend the First Amendment the way the NRA defends the Second, you might not want to immediately demand that they delete a video protected by their First Amendment right, just because you dont like it."

"You kind of look like a hypocrite," he concludes.

Nailed it.

In SF, ex-attorney general Holder tells left to keep fighting

Former Attorney General Eric Holder doesnt see a lot of political sunshine on the horizon for anyone who feels aghast at efforts by national Republican power-holders to roll back much of what he and his erstwhile White House boss did before President Trumps inauguration. But he does have some basic advice.

You cant just curl up in a fetal position, he said Wednesday night at a gathering of about 800 decidedly liberal lawyers at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco.

Yes, he said in response to on-stage questions from Stanford law Professor Pamela Karlan, he hears disturbing echoes of Watergate in current White House affairs. And yes, he told Karlan, he worries that the arc of the moral universe that Martin Luther King Jr. said always bends toward justice may bend away.

But that doesnt mean you give up, said Holder, who as U.S. attorney general under President Barack Obama was the first African American to hold the post.

Its the responsibility of all of us to keep our hands on that arc, he said. There is fighting to be done, there are lawsuits to be brought you can never underestimate the power of the American people.

Holder was speaking at the annual fundraiser for Legal Aid At Work, a nonprofit that represents low-income workers statewide just the kind of audience ripe for a renowned Democrat whose mission is cast as that of a man fighting against powerful forces hammering down on the little guy.

To accent the point of his visit, Holder handed out an award from the nonprofit to retiring U.S. District Judge Thelton Henderson, who in 1962 was the first African American lawyer in the federal Justice Departments civil rights division. Legal Aid at Work Executive Director Joan Graff said Holder was booked for the gig because, with Trump and his Attorney General Jeff Sessions in power, we have grave concerns with respect to the law, and theres no one better than Eric Holder to speak to that.

That aspect had particular local weight considering Holder and the law firm where he is a partner, Covington & Burling, were hired in January to advise the state Assembly and Senate in their fight against Trumps policies. The Assembly allowed the contract to expire in June, but the Senate retained the service.

Holder told the crowd Wednesday night that he found it disturbingly curious that the 1960s paradigm of states rights versus federal power has been reversed so much so that hirings like his own seem necessary to combat attempts to roll back his or Obamas achievements on a wide range of issues from LGBT and immigrant rights to health care and environmental protections.

Back during the civil rights movement, the worst words that could ever come off somebodys lips were states rights, he said, because they were the rallying call of racists like Alabama Gov. George Wallace for efforts to oppress people. Now, the oppression is reversed, he said.

What were talking about now in California ... is an effort not to go back.

The ex-attorney general said after his talk that his main advice to California is to be unafraid and determined, because the state is in for a stiff battle.

Theres a lot of creative negativity going on in Washington, and were going to have to stay busy, he said.

As Holder left the stage, he cocked his ear and smiled. The song pumping from the speakers was Revolution, by the Beatles.

A top House Democrat said in a new interview that his party must improve its core message to voters.

That message is being worked on, Rep. JosephCrowley (D-N.Y.)toldThe Associated Press.

Were doing everything we can to simplify it, but at the same time provide the meat behind it as well. So thats coming together now, the House Democratic Caucus chairman continued.

Despitethose struggles, Democratic leaders say the party must unite around a common message.

The Associated Press noted thatDemocratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez said last week that the party must articulate what it stands for.

The Democratic Party needs to up its game, Perez said in a speech, according to the news service. What I hear most from people is, Tom, we not only need to organize, but we need to articulate clearly what we stand for.

Democrats are preparing for the 2018 midterm elections, where they will be tasked with trying to win back both chambers of Congress.

Veteran Democratic operative James Carville predicted this week his party had a 50-50 chance of taking back the House in 2018, but had slimmer chances when it came to the Senate, despite only having to win three seats back.

The only places where we have an opportunity for pick up are, you know, Nevada is pretty good. After that Arizona is less good, then youre down to Texas and Alabama, and for Democrats to win the Senate back, they have to pick up three seats, he said.

As for the 2020 presidential race, Carville said primary voters will have a plethora of Democratic candidates to choose from, saying it will be double digits.

"There will be a number of serious candidates that are going to run on the Democratic side, and our party needs that, he said.
