H.S. BOYS’ TENNIS: King Philip wears Kelley-Rex Division crown … – The Sun Chronicle

FRANKLIN The King Philip Regional High boys tennis team reigns supreme in the Kelley-Rex Division of the Hockomock League after taking a 3-2 decision at Franklin High Tuesday.

The Warriors No. 2 doubles tandem of junior Aidan Ignatius and sophomore Marco DiStefano overcame a 4-1 second set deficit, winning the final five games for a straight set victory to present KP (14-4, 13-2) with its decisive third team point.

Cole Ginter got his 14th win of the season with a straight set victory at No. 1 singles, losing just one game in the second set. Czech exchange student Martin Matous improved his record to 15-1 with a straight set victory at No. 3 singles, losing two games.

KP will play the second half of a doubleheader Wednesday on the Warrior courts, meeting Taunton at 5 p.m, after the Tigers play a make-up match with Attleboro, starting at 3 p.m.
