Ambode and Fashola
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Lagos State governorship election in 2015 general elections, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, on Monday visited the state Governor, Babatunde Fashola (SAN) in his office.
The visit was seen by many as the beginning of the end to the acrimony that trailed the APC governorship primary which pitted one of the national leaders of the APC, Senator Bola Tinubu against his political godson, Fashola.
Fashola had reportedly supported a former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the Justice in the state, Mr. Olasupo Shasore (SAN), while Tinubu backed Ambode.
Political observers had thought that the outcome of the primary would disunite the state APC and destroy the relationship between Fashola and Tinubu.
But Mondays visit of Ambode to Fashola and the governors well-publicised congratulatory message to the APC governorship candidate had put paid to this.
It was learnt that during the meeting, Ambode sought Fasholas support for next years election

A leader of the All Progressives Congress in Edo State, Chief Francis Inegbeneki, has emerged winner of the partys primary election for Edo Central senatorial district.
Inegbeneki polled 852 votes to defeat three other aspirants.
The result showed that his closest rival Joe Okojie had 335 votes. Theo Okoh got 271 votes while Engineer Osadolor Ordia got a distant five votes.
A total of 1,463 votes were recorded as valid votes while six votes were rendered void.
Meanwhile, votes are still being counted (as of press time) in Edo South, were the Minority Whip of the Federal House of Representatives, Samson Osagie, and the Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor, Patrick Obahiagbon, are strong contenders.
The result from Edo North, which has incumbent Senator Domingo Obende, is yet to be announced as of 7:15pm when our correspondent filed this report.
