Past/current employment: Retired from Kroger after 38 years; current, the Country Place Gallery, Richmond.
Past elected or appointed boards/office: None
Other community involvement: Waco Elementary PTO president for several years; Clark-Moores PTO president two years; Madison Central Academic Boosters president; spearheaded charitable fundraising in each of the above organizations. President and other officer positions with Haiti Christian Mission for many years; volunteer and fundraiser for two project graduations. Facilitated several community fundraisers for various community members facing life-threatening illness or special needs. Past elected or appointed boards/offices: Spent the last five years on the board of directors of the Committee of the 101 supporting the University of Kentucky Athletic Department
What do you see as the top three issues facing Madison County?
First, we must ensure the safety of our citizens as the destruction of chemical weapons begins at the Blue Grass Army Depot. I believe my experience as a career Army Officer will be a great asset to our residents providing information and resolving issues that will arise during this process.
Second, we must be proactive in improving the quality of life for the people of the Fourth District while maintaining financial integrity and growing our infrastructure.
Finally, we must be diligent in our efforts to provide every citizen a safe, drug free community to live and raise our children and grandchildren.
