Boko Haram working for Satan, not God -Tinubu

A national leader of the All Progressives Congress and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, says the attack on a mosque in Kano last Friday, which left over 100 worshippers dead, has shown that Boko Haram is not doing Gods work.

Tinubu said rather, the sect was doing the bidding of Satan.

The former governor said this in a statement on Sunday.

He said, Attacks against numerous locations in the northeast demonstrate how heinous and debased Boko Haram and those who sponsor it have become. So depraved, they have become heartless and filled with enmity against all that is good and proper.

This was not the act of human beings. These attacks could only have come from the hands of those who do not know God or serve God. This is the act of godless people. The hand of evil, deploying those who have given their selves over to wickedness, committed this terrible thing.

No reason can be found for what was done except that BH has once again shown its lust for innocent blood and its disdain for life peacefully lived. Boko Haram killed people praying to God because the god of Boko Haram is Satan himself.

The former governor said he was confident that Nigeria would overcome terrorism as evil could never overcome good.

He, however, said this was the time for all Nigerians, regardless of religion, to unite as this was the only way they could defeat the terrorists.

Boko Haram seeks to scare and intimidate Christians and Muslims alike through wanton destruction. They may attack us but never shall this evil force subdue us. Christians and Muslims must stand arm-in-arm to face this terrorist onslaught, he said.

APC Presidential aspirants to sign undertaking

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Oyegun, has said that all aspirants seeking the partys presidential ticket would have to sign an undertaking during screening.

He said the undertaking was necessary so as to enable the aspirants to faithfully implement the partys manifestoes from the day they assumed office.

Oyegun spoke on Friday while receiving the completed presidential expression of interest and nomination forms from the Kano State Governor, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, at the APC headquarters in Abuja.

The APC National Chairman, however, urged Kwankwaso not to lose sight of the enormous challenges ahead of the party.

He said, Now we are faced with real economic crisis to add to it all. The APC is going to provide this nation with a steady hand, an experienced hand, a competent hand.

Our prayer is for those of you who have indicated interest in this very onerous responsibility, because what you are going to take over from the Peoples Democratic Party, is a nation that is virtually pulled to pieces in every aspect of human life.

Oyegun expressed confidence that the partys manifestoes, which he described as people-oriented, would improve the living standard of Nigerians, if carefully and faithfully implemented.

Earlier, Kwankwaso promised to return smiles to the face of Nigerians if elected President next year.

Meanwhile, a fresh crisis is looming in the APC over alleged plan by the partys leadership to give automatic tickets to serving loyal legislators.

The arrangement, it was learnt, was to reduce tension as well as strengthen loyalty among the partys members especially in the National Assembly.

APC tackles Fayose over monarchs vehicles

The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State has faulted Governor Ayo Fayoses claim on the non-payment of vehicles bought for traditional rulers by the administration of former Governor Kayode Fayemi.

The party said the governors deliberate distortion of fact to deceive Ekiti people negated statesmanship.

Reacting to Fayoses claim that Fayemi bought cars for traditional rulers on credit, the APC State Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatubosun, said it was unfortunate that the governor had chosen lies and propaganda as a state policy.

He insisted that Fayemi paid for all the cars.

He said, The traditional rulers themselves can find out from the suppliers of the vehicles, Coscharis, if these vehicles were not fully paid for. Let Governor Fayose show to the whole world documents showing that the cars were not paid for. This is a challenge.

We understand his game plan by telling the traditional rulers that their cars have not been paid for. He is seeking an undeserved sympathy from them so that they can support his illegalities. It is a subtle blackmail and threat to the royal fathers so as to put them under his control just as he has desecrated the judiciary and violated the legislature.

It is also a ploy to misapply Ekiti money. He has collected so far N10bn refund on Federal Government roads and another N12bn ecological fund from the Federal Government. This is a total of N21bn in just one month and yet, he cannot pay workers salaries and we dont know on what projects he has spent this colossal sum on. For the second time in a decade, Ekiti people are in soup in the hands of one man.

He challenged the governor to publish the financial statement of the state for all to see like Fayemi did while in government.

Olatubosun added that for the second time in one month of Fayoses assumption of office, banks in the state closed down for business for the second day running for fear of attacks by armed robbers as the attack on banks had continued almost daily.

He identified the reduction in funds to security operatives and the increase in personal security vote of the governor as responsible for the upsurge in crime in the state.
