Former Obama deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes said President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner engaged in a “level of corruption that we’ve just never seen” when talking about his firm’s recent investments overseas. 

Rhodes made the comment when asked about The New York Times’s recent reporting that detailed that 99 percent of Kushner’s investment fund’s money came from foreign sources. The outlet also reported Kushner is working on developing hotels in the Balkans, specifically in Serbia and Albania, and noted that the firm has taken money from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

“I mean, look, this is not subtle corruption that we’re looking at,” Rhodes told MSNBC’s Alex Wagner during his Wednesday appearance on “Alex Wagner Tonight.”

“This is a guy, Jared Kushner, who had no expertise, no qualification whatsoever to be in the White House while he was there. He made it his account to work in the Gulf Arab states. He basically helped lead the cover-up for [Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman]. Get him in from the cold after the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.”

Rhodes said Kushner securing a $2 billion investment from Saudi Arabia six months after leaving the White House is a way for Crown Prince Mohammed to exert influence on U.S. foreign policy if Trump returns to the Oval Office after the November election.

“Basically, what we can take from that investment is that in a second Trump term, U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and around the world will be made entirely with the interests of Mohammed bin Salman in mind,” Rhodes said. 

Kushner oversaw Middle East policy during his time in the Trump administration. The investment was scrutinized after the Times reported in 2022 that the Saudi sovereign’s advisory panel was opposed to giving funds to Kushner’s firm, noting his “inexperience,” but the decision was reversed by a bigger board headed by the crown prince.

“He chose to work on issues in the Middle East, and he chose to work with the Gulf Arab states, knowing that the payout would be on the back end,” Rhodes said, pointing to the impeachment inquiry into President Biden by House Republicans, who allege his son, Hunter, used access to his father for profit.

“And here we have the president’s son-in-law, who worked in the White House — unlike Hunter Biden — who’s collected $2 billion on the back end of his service. Now he’s got his father-in-law running for president,” Rhodes said. “Right? This is not only unusual, this is unprecedented.” 

Kushner defended himself and his firm’s action regarding conflicts-of-interest allegations when asked by the Times.

“Following the laws and the rules is something we always do,” he told the outlet. “Perception, I’ve learned that from my time in politics, is important. But I can’t control what everyone is going to write or say about me.”

House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) said back in August that Kushner “crossed the line of ethics” by accepting a $2 billion investment.

“This is just putting a price tag on American foreign policy,” Rhodes said. “This is a level of corruption that we’ve just never seen, and it’s hiding in plain sight.”

OPINION:

It is time to say what the Biden administration is desperate to hide. Iran sent Hamas forth on Oct. 7 to butcher Israelis in the most savage of attacks because it was not intimidated by Israels ability to hit back. That seems odd given Israels nuclear capabilities; therefore, one must conclude that Iran now has nukes to put on their missiles to nullify the threat of Israeli retaliation.

Irans belligerence is also directed at the West, and in particular at President Biden. We are now faced with a harsh reality of a nuclear-armed Iran, and the blame falls directly on Barack Obama and Mr. Biden. The Iranian mullahs are to a large extent a doomsday cult that will not hesitate to try to take us out. There is no going back, and the obtuse Biden team (all Obama carryovers) is directly responsible.

Nuclear weapons used against the Gulf oil powers spells a disastrous scenario for the world. And Mr. Biden sold off our strategic reserves to China for his own political gain.

These are dark times.

South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley was doubled over with emotion following the Gamecocks' 87-75 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes in the NCAA women's national championship.

It was a storybook win to beat tough odds, as South Carolina became the 10th Division I team to complete a full season without a single loss (38-0). The Gamecocks also made history as the first team since at least 2000 to win a title without a single returning starter, according to ESPN.

Recovering from her tears, Staley expressed gratitude to Iowa's superstar for the excitement she brought to the game all season.

"I wanna personally thank Caitlin Clark for lifting up our sport, she carried a heavy load, when she's the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft she's gonna lift that league up as well," Staley said. "So Caitlin if you're out there you are one of the GOATs of our game and we appreciate you."

While Staley offered praise and recognition throughout her postgame comments, she and her players drew the same sentiments from major figures in the sports world and beyond.

Staley has now won two championships in three years for South Carolina, leading the team to a 109-3 record over that span. She has three national titles as a coach but she also racked up plenty of accolades as a player. From her two national player of the year awards at Virginia, to her three Olympic gold medals and six WNBA All-Star appearances, Staley is continuing to change women's basketball.

Staley is the first Black coach in Division I college basketball to finish a season undefeated. Angel Reese, incoming WNBA star out of LSU, expressed excitement and gratitude following Staley's most recent accomplishment.

Sunday's win came in an emotionally charged rematch for South Carolina. The Gamecocks, highlighted by reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston, were eliminated from last year's Final Four by Clark and the Hawkeyes. Boston was able to experience the completion of the Gamecocks' revenge tour in person, supporting Staley as she cried postgame.

South Carolina and the 1991 Tennessee Lady Volunteers are the only teams to claim victory in the national title game against the team that eliminated them from the previous women's NCAA tournament.

Under Staley, A'ja Wilson led the Gamecocks to their first NCAA championship in 2017. She went on to become a two-time WNBA champion and MVP with the Las Vegas Aces.

What is Barack Obama up to now? On March 18, he walked straight in the front door of No. 10 Downing Street, the residence and office of the prime minister of Britain, for a meeting with Rishi Sunak. Also visiting the leader of the opposition party, Obama portrayed it as a courtesy visit. The two said they discussed international affairs, artificial intelligence and a variety of other issues.

This, of course, is after radical Democrats, led by Obama and Joe Biden, targeted Gen. Michael Flynn for having discussions with foreign leaders when he was a private citizen. They used the obscure, never-enforced Logan Act as a way to target Flynn, even though he was the incoming national security advisor to President-elect Donald Trump at the time. Obama has no official office, current or impending.

But people are finally realizing that he is more powerful than any designee, appointee, prime minister or president-elect.

Is he even more powerful than Joe Biden?

Some in the propaganda media are portraying the answer to that question as debatable. But its not even close.

Obamas visit is especially interesting because it was in London. In his book Ball of Collusion, investigative journalist Andrew McCarthy explains that London was actually the nerve center of Russiagate. Almost all the key players in the effort to convince the public that Trump colluded with Russia were American and British government officials who desperately wanted Hillary Clinton to win the election. In light of Britains efforts to help Obamas Central Intelligence Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation and National Security Agency to frame Trump for a crime he did not commit, Obamas visit in the lead-up to the 2024 election is suspicious.

This was Obamas first meeting with Sunak, but Politico reported that the British prime minister has met with the current White House occupant a number of times. Its pretty telling that Politico never refers to Joe Biden by name and never calls him the president. Is the White house occupant a tacit admission that Barack Hussein Obama is the real power behind the Biden administration? Discussing international affairs and artificial intelligence with the head of Britain is not something you do as the head of the Obama administration; it is something you do as the shadow president running the United States.

Recently released transcripts of Bidens interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur show that Biden was wounded when Obama favored Hillary Clinton over him in the 2016 presidential election; former White House aides say Biden often measures himself against the man he served as vice president. In other words, Biden is very insecure about his relationship with his boss because Obama dominates their relationship.

Some news analysts believe that Bidens insecurity indicates there is some sort of rivalry or power struggle between the former president and vice president. But this belief gives Biden too much credit. He may not always like being dominated by Obama, but he is far too senile to put up any sort of fight. The much-hyped Obama-Biden power struggle isnt real. The Biden administration contains so many Obama administration alumni that many analysts believe Obama has more control over it than he had over his own administration (since he actually did have to fight Hillary Clinton for power in the aftermath of 2008).

This shadow presidency is unprecedented in American history, yet it was actually foretold in Bible prophecy. After Obama was reelected to Americas presidency in 2012, my father wrote a startling booklet titled America Under Attack (which has since been greatly expanded). It revealed that Obama was a modern-day type of the Seleucid King Antiochus Epiphanes. Antiochus obtained the throne through lies. He then betrayed the people of Judah who were under his rule, slaughtering them, desecrating the temple in Jerusalem with an idol of himself, and attempting to fundamentally transform Jewishness itself.

Although news about Obama went quiet after he left office, we at the Trumpet have kept an eye on him. In the February 2021 Philadelphia Trumpet issue, my father wrote: Barack Obama was at the epicenter of the election crisis and the radical lefts effort to prevent Donald Trump from being reelected! He based his analysis on 2 Kings 14:23-29, which describe a Satan-led movement in the end time to blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, and Daniel 8:12, which exposes an end-time Antiochus who cast down the truth to the ground, as well as Revelation 12:9, which reveals that God has cast Satan down to Earth.

People have to realize that Americas nation-destroying problems are not the mistakes of a senile president. They are the successes of a malevolent shadow president.

Malia and Sasha Obamas everyday styles are somewhat similar in that much of what they wear seems, surface-level, to be picked-up off the floor last minute. But a trained eye can tell that they're actually dressing with intention.

Sashas airport sweatpants, statement silver necklace, and chunky black boots mirror the way that Malia masterfully layers her baggy shirts.

It's all about showcasing interesting patterns, proportions, and silhouettes by way of obviously purposefulness.

The trick is that whereas Sasha leans towards no-brainer day-to-day style, Malia is more of the fashion-forward set you might see her wearing Collina Strada or the clog of the moment.

President Barack Obama used to famously say that he took the Steve Jobs approach to dressing or, in other words, having very similar basics on hand so as to not have to think too hard about getting dressed.

His daughters seem to have taken the opposite approach, throwing some of the seemingly most disparate basics into a blend of great consequential effect.
