Trump Derangement Syndrome Spirals Out of Control with Sick Performance of Trumpian Julius Caesar – PJ Media

Trump Derangement Syndrome continues to spin out of control within certain segments of society, and offenders seem unable to recognize when a line has been crossed.

The Public Theater's rendition ofJulius Caesar in New York City is a prime example of the phenomenon.

This version of Shakespeares tragedy features a Caesar who bears a striking resemblance to President Donald Trump, complete with his trademark orange hair, business suit, and long red (or blue) necktie. True to the original play, the rash populist Caesar ends up being assassinated on the Senate floor by a group of conspirators including his friends Cassius and Brutus -- saving the Republic from his dangerousreign.

They didn't even attempt to be subtle with the imagery, according to one woman who was able to see a sneak preview of the performance. During the murder scene when the Trumpian Ceasar is stabbed to death, "an American flag hovers overhead," according to the woman, while "blood was spewing everywhere out of his body. She told Joe Piscopo on AM 970 THE ANSWER that the audience seemed disturbingly accepting of the heinous scene.

The Public Theater kicked off its annual free Shakespeare in the Park summer programming with Julius Caesaron May 23, but the play doesn't officiallyopen until June 12.

Via Mediaite:

It describes the Roman leader as Magnetic, populist, irreverent, and bent on absolute power. The description also notes that a small band of patriots, devoted to the countrys democratic traditions, must decide how to oppose him.

Laura Sheaffer, a sales manager at Salem Media who saw the sneak preview, described the ghastly performance in an interview with Mediaite.

The actor playing Caesar was dressed in a business suit, with a royal blue tie, hanging a couple inches below the belt line, with reddish-blonde hair just like Trump, Sheaffer said.

In the scene before Caesar is assassinated, his wife Calpurnia begs him to stay away from the Senate, claiming she is having nightmares of his murder. According to Sheaffer, the actress playing Calpurnia bore a resemblance to first lady Melania Trump replete with a Slavic accent.

Sheaffer also noted that in the scene, the actor playing Trump Caesar steps out of a bathtub stark naked, which she said struck her as disrespectful, and a mockery of the office of the President.

In the next scene the Trumpian Caesar is attacked by the Senators and stabbed to death as an American flag hovers overhead, according to Sheaffer. They had the full murder scene onstage, and blood was spewing everywhere out of his body.

To be honest I thought it was shocking and distasteful, Sheaffer continued. If this had happened to any other president even as recently as Barack Obama or George W. Bush it would not have flown. People would have been horrified.

I mean it was the on-stage murder of the president of the United States, she said.

Sheaffer pointed out that the play ends with Marc Anthony celebrating Brutus for his bravery, saving the Romans from Caesars rule. The message it sent was that if you dont support the president, its ok to assassinate him.

I dont love President Trump, but hes the president. You cant assassinate him on a stage, Sheaffer said.

What Does Privatizing Air Traffic Control Mean For Houston Jobs? – Houston Public Media

Local Democrats are concerned about how the plan could negatively impact its workers.

In terminal A of Bush Airport Congresswomen Shelia Jackson Lee stood backed by airport union workers.

They are worried about losing their jobs if air traffic control is privatized.

Cynthia Cole is one of those workers.

You are looking at 10,000 to 20,000 individuals who are going to be impacted by this, Cole says. And there is no guarantee to their jobs.

The congresswoman says there has been progress made in bettering the air traffic control system, and it would be unwise to stop now.

Right here, at Bush we have begun the Next Generation technology, and invested millions of dollars to build that facility at the air traffic controllers, Jackson Lee says. What happens when those assets go into a private bank, a private entity?

NextGen technology was put in place by the Federal Aviation Administration in 2014.

It aims to help airports become more efficient.

Republican Senator Ted Cruz said on Fox News that privatizing air traffic control would not only help modernize the system, but bring more jobs.

Gunman in fatal Pollo Tropical shooting fired in self-defense, say police – Sun Sentinel

A man who pulled a .45 caliber handgun and shot and killed another man with whom he had been arguing inside a restaurant acted in self defense, police said.

Eric Primus, 49, of Tamarac, was shot at 1:19 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of the Pollo Tropical, 2390 S. University Drive near Nova Drive and the busy Tower Shops, police said.

Primus was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, where he died, police said.

The shooter was identified as Cardiff Lindo, 33.

Based on our investigation we believe that Lindo acted in self defense under Florida's Stand Your Ground statute, Davie Police Capt. Dale Engle said in a statement Sunday morning.

Although, Engle added, our investigation continues.

Police said Lindo fired a handgun which he was licensed to carry. Primus was not armed, police said.

Lindo and Primus apparently did not know each other when they began arguing inside the restaurant, according to police. The subject of the argument or how it started was unclear, police said.

Primus and a co-worker entered Pollo Tropical on their lunch break. Primus did not sit with his co-worker, who sat near the window to watch the tools in their work truck, Engle said.

After Primus and Lindo got into an argument, Primus and his co-worker, both employed by Davie-based Jorgensen Contract Services, left the restaurant and sat in their truck in the parking lot, police said.

Lindo remained inside the restaurant for a short period of time and then walked outside toward his vehicle, Engle said.

When Primus saw Lindo, he got out of the truck, confronted Lindo and the two men tussled, Engle said. During that fight, Lindo pulled a handgun and fired several rounds, police said.

Primus was struck once, police said.

After Primus was shot, he managed to get back into the truck and his co-worker drove to a nearby Chevron gas station. There Primus co-worker, who has not been identified by police, yelled for help.

Primus was bleeding profusely as he lay slumped in the passengers seat, according to gas station attendant Simo Boukhar.

Engle said he was heading to the scene at the restaurant when he was flagged down by customers at the gas station.

Not knowing exactly what was happening, Engle said he drew his weapon out as he got out of his car at the Chevron station. But he quickly holstered his gun when he saw Primus face down and bleeding in the trucks passenger seat, he said.

A woman was attempting to render him aide, said Engle. I yelled for others to give me a hand. He was a big man.

Engle, with the help of the woman and other bystanders, got Primus out of the truck and on the ground where they put him on his back, covered a bleeding chest wound with a piece of plastic and applied pressure.

He was shot in the chest, and I feared that he had a collapsed lung, said Engle.

After several minutes a period that Engle said seemed like an eternity paramedics arrived.

Lindo remained at the restaurant and called 911, Engle said.

Lindo surrendered to police and was detained for questioning, Engle said. He was not charged.

Engle said that Lindo cooperated with investigators and the explanation of events provided by Lindo was [corroborated] by witnesses.

Under Floridas 2005 Stand Your Ground, a person is justified in using deadly force in self-defense and has no duty to retreat if the person reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm.

The law, considered a model used by other states, received national attention after the 2012 killing in Sanford of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman. A jury that had been instructed on Floridas law acquitted Zimmerman of second-degree murder.

A new measure that has passed both houses of the Republican-dominated Florida legislature would shift the burden of proof from defendants to prosecutors when the Stand Your Ground law is invoked to avoid trial.

Proponents say the law would protect the constitutional rights of those under investigation after a violent encounter.

Opponents say the measures will embolden gun owners to shoot first.

Staff researcher Barbara Hijek contributed to this report.

WATCH: Trump Announces Plan To Privatize Air Traffic Control – Houston Public Media

Its an idea long supported by most of the commercial airlines and the union who say the system is inefficient under the Federal Aviation Administration.

President Trump announced Monday a plan to privatize the nations air traffic control system a move that would remove the job of tracking and guiding airplanes from the purview of the Federal Aviation Administration.

Today were proposing to take American air travel into the future, finally, Trump said.

The nations air traffic control system was designed when far fewer people flew, Trump said, calling it stuck, painfully, in the past. He also called the system ancient, broken, antiquated and horrible and said his reforms would make it safer and more reliable.

The FAA has worked to upgrade its system, but Trump and other critics say it was taking far too long. Honestly, they didnt know what the hell they were doing, Trump said. A total waste of money.

Privatization of air traffic control is an idea long supported by most of the commercial airlines. Executives from those companies joined the president at the White House to announce the plan.

Guided by legislation that has been proposed in the past by House Transportation Committee chairman Bill Shuster, a private, non-profit corporation would be created to operate, manage and control ATC nationwide, similar to what Canada does. The FAA would still have some oversight capacity, but a board made up mostly of representatives of the major airlines would govern this corporation.

The air traffic controllers union is generally supportive of the proposal, as they see the current FAA air traffic control system as somewhat inefficient. The Shuster plan would still allow for the controllers to be part of the union.

The FAA says it has modernized in recent years by updating its computers and other systems. Administrator Michael Huerta told an industry conference in March that the agency has made tremendous progress, per the Associated Press.

But some groups have been critical of efforts to privatize air traffic control operations, saying it gives the airlines too much control over they system for their own benefit.

The group Flyers Rights calls it the creation of an airline controlled corporate monopoly. It also says privatizing air traffic control amounts to handing the airlines (for free) control over a core public asset, and providing them nearly unbridled power to extract new fees and increased taxes from passengers.

Trump has been critical in the past of the FAA and air traffic control, saying his personal pilot has complained about how out of date and inefficient the agency is.

Trumps plan to privatize air traffic control operations will likely be included in legislation re-authorizing the FAA. The Senate Transportation Committee will discuss the proposal on Wednesday, with Trumps Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao testifying. Chao will again address the issue before the House Transportation Committee on Thursday.

This plan is part of Trumps broader infrastructure vision. He may also talk Monday more broadly about what he has called third world airports in particular, as he launches what the White House is calling the Presidents infrastructure week.

Trump will be in Cincinnati on Wednesday to continue talking about infrastructure, focusing on inland waterways on the Ohio river including aging dams.
