Libyan customers prefer quality clothing despite not being the richest in the region: Turkish manufacturer – Libya Herald

Libyan customers prefer quality clothing despite not being the richest in the region. The assessment was made by Esref Geyik, Chairman of TIGSAD, the Turkish Underwear Manufacturers Association. Geyik is also the owner of a leading clothes manufacturer, Elsim.

Geyik was speaking exclusively to Libya Herald at yesterdays opening of the 3rd edition of the Turkish Fashion and Ready-to-Wear Exhibition held being held at the Tripoli International Fairgrounds 9 to 11 January. The fair is exhibiting clothing for women, men, and children by 23 Turkish manufacturers.

The TIGSAD chairman said the previous two editions of the exhibition were held in 2014, where 40 companies exhibited, and in 2023 where 24 companies participated. He said the exhibition is considering holding an event in Benghazi in August this year.

Geyik said there are good trade and cultural relations between Turkey and Libya. Libyans like high quality despite not being as rich as other regional countries. He said Libyan customers like for quality clothing makes Libya an important market for Turkey and his company which produces quality products.

He put the appreciation of quality clothing to the Italian influence and the proximity to Europe. In some products, he went so far as to say the Libyan market has surpassed the European market.

He said he already has 210 merchants selling his products all over Libya, including Benghazi, Tripoli, and Misrata. Despite this he said he continues to exhibit in Libya to show new trends and new materials.

On the Libyan market, he said Libya is in the top 5 destinations for Turkish clothing exports. He said sales continue to grow annually, and they would increase further if there was continuous stability in Libya.

Kuwait vs Libya Prediction and Betting Tips | January 12th 2024 – Sportskeeda

Kuwait and Libya will square off in an international friendly on Friday.

The Libyans are coming into the game on the back of a 2-1 comeback victory over Indonesia in a friendly last week. They went behind to Yakob Sakuri's third-minute strike but quickly drew level courtesy of Osama Mukhtar Al Shremi six minutes later. Ahmed Ekrawa scored the match-winner in the 20th minute.

Kuwait, meanwhile, have not been in action since claiming a 4-0 away victory over Afghanistan in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November. Shabaib Al Khaldi scored a brace while Mohammad Daham and Athbil Shehab also found the back of the net in the rout.

Both sides will not be participating in their respective continental championships this month haviing failed to qualify. The Blue Wave have another friendly lined up against Uganda next week before resuming competitive action in the World Cup qualifiers in March.

Kuwait come into the game in inconsistent form, having won and lost three each of their last six games.

Libya did not qualify for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, having finished rock-bottom of their qualification group. However, The Mediterranean Knights have turned a positive corner since then and are unbeaten in nine games in this time. This will boost the North Africans' confidence heading into this game.

Games between the two sides have historically been tight affairs and more of the same can be expected. Libya have been the more consistent side and we are backing Milutin Sredojevic's side to claim a narrow win with goals at both ends.

Prediction: Kuwait 1-2 Libya

Tip 1 - Libya to win

Tip 2 - Both teams to score

Tip 3 - Over 2.5 goals
