By Jennifer Lynn

He may be more acquainted with Ibiza and Las Vegas these days, but summers all but over, and it was time for Calvin Harris to come home to the UK for his iTunes Festival performance. Playing to the Roundhouses Sunday night, were-not-ready-to-go-back-to-school-yet crowd, Calvin made sure his army of fans would be sleeping in come Monday morning.

Feeling: With Kiesza providing the support, the Roundhouse felt somewhat half-full until the flame-haired singer hit out with final track Hideaway, when a surge of bodies appeared and a mass sing-a-long occurred. Heating the venue right up, there was definitely anticipation lingering in the air as a countdown clock appeared on the DJ box, ticking all the way from 20 to one. Then on came the man himself, proudly declaring, My name is Calvin Harris, as chaos ensued.

The Look: Keeping it simple in a black T-shirt, it was only a later appearance from special guest John Newman that upped Calvins style stakes, with John decked out in a white suit jacket and black trousers. That being said, Calvins fist pumps are somewhat more impressive than Johns manic dance moves, which did provide us with much entertainment.

Tunes: So. Many. Hits. Kicking off with Under Control, his track with Alesso, super producer Calvin then progressed into The Sources You Got The Love, a definite crowd-pleaser. Top ten hits I Need Your Love, Feel So Close, Sweet Nothing and Bounce went down a storm, but it was We Found Love Rihannas number one smash that really raised the roof.

The aforementioned appearance from John Newman was a great way to introduce the pairs new track Blame to their adoring audience and, after a whole-crowd chant of Fatboy Slims Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat, Calvin helped London wave goodbye to summer with you guessed it Summer.

Banter: Keeping spirits high with cries of, London, I want to see everybodys hands in the air, interjected with, Camden, if you know the words to this song, I want to hear you sing along, Calvins definitely got charisma.

David Guetta Q&A: The Superstar Producer Talks New Music, the Future of EDM & More

After three years, David Guetta is finally wrapping up his sixth album. Admittedly, it has been hard for the 46-year old French producer find studio time with his touring schedule: This month, hes doing sets Ibiza and Las Vegas every single weekend, with festivals and a Miami show or two thrown in. But this is par for the course. The man largely responsible for dance musics pop takeover has been DJing in Europe practically non-stop since 1988.

Guetta's trendsetting 2009 album One Love was one of the first EDM albums to make waves on pop radio, and turned him into one of the busiest DJs in the world. In the past year, he has toured with Rihanna, co-written a song on Lady Gaga's Artpop, and produced parts of Britney Spears album Britney Jean. His last album, 2011s Nothing but the Beat featured Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, Timbaland, Ludacris, Jessie J, and Sia, among others. And his latest release, Lovers on the Sun" (feat. Sam Martin), was co-produced with Avicii and reachedNo. 1 on the UK singles chart.

Last weekend, Guetta headlined New York Citys Electric Zoo festival between performances in Ibiza and at Londons iTunes festival, and he found time to sit down with Billboard to discuss his forthcoming album (which he says is in the very advanced stages), what's next for EDM music, and more.

Fall Album Preview: 72 Anticipated Releases

Billboard: Youve long pulled for dance music to be on the radio, but did you ever foresee it actually dominating the pop charts?

Guetta: Thats always what I wanted, but I honestly never knew if it was possible. For so long, I couldnt understand why it wasnt on the radio like it is now. I was playing every weekend to thousands of kids who were going crazy for this music, and I could feel that everyone wanted to hear it. The demand was there. I thought, "we have the product, people want it, why does no one want to promote it?" It felt crazy to me. It was the fight of my life to make that music crossover.

As one of the most powerful ambassadors between electronic and pop music, what was the turning point?

I think, for me, it was I Got a Feeling and Sexy Bitch. Those two songs were when dance music hit pop radio, and Memories and Titanium followed. But I Got A Feeling was when radio seem to say, wow, okay, this is actually working, this is marketable. And then everybody changed their format. Now, of course, were way beyond that and onto something completely different.

What's the biggest misconception about dance music right now?

That its stagnant. Between that moment that we just described and now, the situation has completely changed. What was big in the dance music world then is completely different whats big now. The electro-pop sound turned into something way, way harder, and soon, well see a reaction to that. Music is always actionreaction. It works in cycles. Rock n' roll did, disco did, people want something fresh and exciting and then they get tired of it and they go for the opposite.

Mountain Mayhem: On the beat

With live music in focus with this weekends Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience, my mind turns to several standout acts that performed at Belly Up this summer. Aspens main music venue features more than 300 live shows a year, with a cross-section of styles, genres and entertainers from all over the world, including the following performers who each earning a rave review from their audience.

On June 26, DJ and electronic music composer Nightmares on Wax (aka DJ Ease) came to town on tour for his N.O.W IS THE TIME compilation celebrating a 25-year career. The Leeds, England-born, now Ibiza, Spain-based performer was joined by his band for a vibrant show, infusing reggae, hip-hop and what he helped pioneer, trip-hop.

On July 26, Grammy-winning guitarist Gary Clark, Jr., brought the house down with his brooding blues and authentic rock. Based in Austin, Texas, Clark has been on the road for nearly two years noted as a breakout act in that short time performing everywhere from Coachella to Londons Royal Albert Hall and as a regular guest with the Rolling Stones.

On Aug. 6, Australian electronic band Cut Copy, fronted by DJ Dan Whitford, followed up their previous nights appearance at Red Rocks with an electrifying performance in Aspen. From the opener to the encore, they kept the dance floor packed, crossing the gamut with their smash hits Lights & Music and Hearts on Fire to songs off of their latest album, Free Your Mind.

Acts on my radar at the festival this weekend include pop-rock band OneRepublic, of Colorado Springs, on today and rock/soul band The Revivalists from New Orleans on Sunday both stars on the rise and sure to energize.
